Would Will Howard have been at Penn State if not for Sean Clifford?  Granted, no other QB can throw a pretty "pick-6" like Clifford but Howard did a very nice impression of Clifford on his first pass.  After that, Howard played a great game and had the Penn State D swinging at air.  The Ohio State offense kept creating voids on the field and then put a skill player in the void.

Fire Tom Allen and the guy who hired him!

(Author's Note:  the real problem is the guy who hired Tom Allen and kept Clifford in the starting position)

So fire the DC who just held Ohio State's offense to their lowest output of the year? Yeah, that makes sense.

The defense wasn’t the problem the problem was the same old predictable or mind boggling play calls at pivotal points in the game and a QB that is afraid to throw the ball further than 8 yards. The defense out scored the offense 7-6 and deserved a better outcome again.

Allar needs to be benched because he just doesn’t have it and Franklins seat is starting to get a little warmer.

@psujoe Absolutely horrible take. Stop with this Beau Pribula to rescue non sense. Hard to throw it to receivers that aren’t open and the pocket is collapsing around you.

Every time he threw the ball downfield our WRs were being held. Warren was being mugged and still caught it. OSU held Clifford, then got there early on a deep pass... no call.

Allar was looking downfield, they even admitted it on the broadcast saying "might have got away with hold..." or another flippant response like 8 times today

@roaminglion --- Yes, fire Tom Allen and the guy that hired him.  The Ohio State offense had the PSU defense swinging at air the entire game.

Right, but somehow the Nebraska DC was genius to hold them to 21 points? And Oregon's great defense held them to 31?

Those guys are great, but the guy who held them to the absolute lowest point total all year.... FIRE HIM!

@psujoe  DA should’ve been benched after the second quarter what did we have to lose you could see he didn’t have it against the Ohio st defense. I don’t mind going down as long as we go down throwing everything we have to get the win and James Franklin didn’t do that today.

@roaminglion ----- I did not comment on the Nebraska or the Oregon defensive coordinators.  I commented on the fact that the Ohio State offense created voids in the Penn State defense and then exploited those voids.  Based on the ease at which the Ohio State offense was able to move the ball, I believe that Tom Allen should be fired along with the guy who hired him.

Throwing everything you have at the opponent in a big game goes against everything JF believes in.

Yes, and my point was they scored 20 points. I thought the goal of defense was to prevent a team from scoring, not to look good and allow points.

Simple fact is our DC held a great offense to their lowest total of the year... with an offense that couldn't do much. Only reason we were in the game was him

On a side note in OSU QB Will Howards post game presser he stated that he grew up a PSU fan and wanted to go there but PSU apparently though he wasn’t good enough and never offered.

Tom Allen has done a good job imo we had to rebuild the defense and they’ve held their own. I understand the defense taking a small step backwards because we lost a few studs from last year but the offense especially the QB should be better.

I don’t understand how anyone can blame this on the D. This is 100percent on the mind boggling stupid play calls and ineptitude of the offense.

I definitely agree with you about the DC Southern... though I think the real issue on offense is our WRs.
