Now that the baseball lock out has been worked through, we can think about spring sports. I've heard that Dodger Stadium has the largest baseball stadium capacity in the U.S. They say, it holds over 56,000 people. But that's just a......"ballpark" estimate.
But how many fans can it hold?
@rip Depends on how big the fans are.
I still remember the Judge Ito remark at the OJ trial to the British gent who testified that he didn't watch American football because he found it boring. Lance deadpanned - "wait 'til you see baseball" , LMAO!
I was telling my navylion yesterday I’m ready for some Penn St spring practice and game. Clifford will start the season but I believe CV will beat him out and with a 5* stud RB coming in ole James just might have something goi g again. I’m ready Bob even though I’ve got to start cutting grass again lol
@southern-psu-fan: we haven't heard from Navylion in weeks. Where has he been and how is he doing??
I'm ready too, Southern. Just hope ole James has the calhouns to play the best man, be it at QB, RB and OLmen. I don't mind cutting grass. In fact, I look forward to putting the snowblower away!
@t-hale He was at the NHRA yesterday in Gainesville, Fl. He’s taking care of his family they’ve had a tough go at it this year. His brother-in-law and daddy got called up to be with Jehovah God but I’m sure he’ll be back shortly when the spring practice gets here and we’ll probably hear from him this weekend for the wrestling NC’s.
I agree BK 100%, I’d rather cut grass than be cold 😂 I can’t wait to see the QB battle that’s going to be fun. I’m glad Clifford came back and if he does win the job I’ll be his biggest cheerleader baby.
My goodness let’s give Jehovah some praise because we know when we leave this life, it ain’t goodbye, it’s I’ll see you in a little while..thank you Jesus
I don't mind blowing snow. (no bugs) I don't mind cutting grass. (no freezing 40 mph wind blowing the snow back in my face) However, this time of year, mud, mud, and more mud, annoys me to no end! Too wet to do anything in the garden or woods. Only good part is, it's warm enough to go out and burn a stogie or two watching the geese and Bald Eagles fly by.
Neighbors are boiling sap, wonder if Tsuga is up and around yet. You hear anything Navy? (when you get a chance)
And there seems to be an unusually high number of snow geese this way. 15 yrs ago, you didn't see a one flying around the ol' farm.

Well I know Yankee Stadium is one of the coolest spots in NYC in the summer .. it's because it's full of fans.
Hey all,
Gonna make this brief, lord knows I don't want to break the forum rules by talking non football stuff in the football forum!!!
I keep in touch with Tsuga regularly via e-mail. He is not back to 100% but doing better. Still a long way to go.
BT, so yes they are in syrup production BUT, he is in a chair in the sugar shack being the HMIFC. Got his grandkids and kids taking over the labor for him. I think it is good for him to get outside a bit but also not overdo it. He's still Tsuga, COVID hasn't affected his mind, that's for dang sure!!
T-Hale thanks for asking about me. I'm am OK, don't have much choice not to be between family and work! The hits just keep on hittin though! Brother in law on Christmas Eve and Dad within 30 days of each other and we just buried my younger cousin last weekend!! WTH?????
Hey for what it's worth T, I know your not Snake or FT. Your posts make to much sense and you are WAY to knowledgeable about wrestling. Snake/FT never has any knowledgeable substance in his posts, always tries to be cryptic and is a loser RU fan. Don't see how anyone could say you 2 are anything alike!
SPF LOVE YA BROTHER!!!
Dang Navy, that is a tuff few months! All the best to you! Thanks for the Tsuga update. Tell him Mt Nit said hello!

Speaking of stogies where do you store them if you don’t have any type of humidor? I haven’t burned one in a while and have had a few laying around.
Not sure about the rest of you guys but with everything else going on in this world I sure haven’t been able to get excited about anything sports related for awhile.

@navylion Damn man. Sorry to hear you losing so many family members in such a short amount of time Navy. Hope everyone is coping ok.
Thanks on the update on Tsuga. Glad that he's doing reasonably well. Guess it's safe to say he didn't go body skiing down any slopes looking for moose sheds this year. Hey! Every operation, even sugaring, needs a NCOIC! Or at least I'm guessing he was enlisted. Next time you roust him out of his mid day slumber, please give him my regards....and the Kid too.
Hoping things quiet down for you and your family, Sir.
@psujoe haha Well, we all can't have a walk in humidor, like I envision FD having. That said, in my world, I've used ziplock plastic bags in a pinch, for short duration, like when I used to go back packing into the sticks for a week.
Living out in the middle of nowhere as I do, the closest real cigar store is about an hours drive. Making it a bit unreasonable for me to buy single sticks to see what good smoking might be out there. So I rely on online ordering, a box at a time, which fills up my real humidors fairly quickly, 'cause the descriptions always make me want to buy another box to try something new.
That said, the "make do" humidors I've used have been clean glass jars. Tough to find them big enough to hold 6 or 7" cigars, unless they were old pickle jars and we all know how they smell. Gallon honey jars work well, if you can find them. My last cigar buying spree, I happened to be wandering around Target and saw acrylic canisters for flour, sugar or pasta. You know the ones. So, I said why not? They seem to work pretty well for me. I have 4 makeshift humidors going at present and a box of Olivas coming today.... My name is John and I have a problem...
Some boxes of cigars come w/ a thin veneer of Spanish cedar (not to be confused with US red or white cedar) in with the cigars. Spanish cedar helps w/ the aging/mellowing process. For what it's worth, "they" say smoke 'em as soon as you get them or age them for a year. (I don't think my pallet is that refined) I throw the cedar right in with the stogies. One problem that I did encounter is the humidification. Being relatively air tight, too much moisture will allow mold to start growing. So you shouldn't just put a damp paper towel in with them. What I would suggest are Boveda humidity packs. (modern marvels!) These humidity packs absorb excess or supply humidity,(they swing both ways) maintaining a fairly constant atmosphere.
I have to imagine there are other companies making similar products. Check around, prices vary quite a bit, but they are semi reasonable. They also have different humidity levels, so you can play around to see what % you like best.
Hope I didn't bore you too badly. Good Luck!
