Roam, if you are serious about this, I suggest getting a copy of The Frugal Gourmet Cooks American by Jeff Smith, copyright 1987. Page 279 has a recipe for Biscuits and Gravy and pg. 428 has a recipe for Harriet's Southern Biscuits. It the recipes that my wife uses. Used copies are available at Amazon or probably in used bookstores in your area. The "Frug" was from Tacoma, Washington.
If you aren't interested, forget that I said anything.
