The player is supposedly Aaron Maybin.

What annoys me about the article I read by Wetzel is the headliner calling out Joe Paterno and Penn State even though the weasel -Blazer said he had dealings at Michigan, Pitt, Alabama, Ohio State etc. nothing in that article tied Paterno and it’s just another sensational PSU pile on. This Blazer is a s um bag looking for a reduced sentence. Don’t pick up the soap in the shower Blazer.
I don't know Lake, I kinda hope he does pick up the soap.
Maybin left in 2009. Does anybody honestly believe that 10k would be enough to keep a kid in college who's about to earn millions in a pro contract??
The felon was testifying about things he did from 2010-2014 and just so happens to mention a supposed event in 2009. From what I've read, Maybin's dad paid back the 10k. Could it be that what one person is calling a loan; a felon is calling a payment to keep a kid in college??
Lets hear about some of the shady dealings at the other schools mentioned, not just PSU. Wetzel should br keel-hulled for writing that piece of garbage.
Heard a rumor that just before the PSU board of trustees voted to take on all other team's sanctions, one member was quoted as saying. "Proof? What Proof? We don't need no stinking Proof".

What are you talking about? Here we go again, everyone is picking on Penn state.
Quote "Blazer said he paid players at Penn State, Pitt, Michigan, Northwestern, Alabama, Notre Dame and North Carolina. The goal was to lock them in as clients once they turned pro."

I get Yahoo sports alerts. The headliner boldly featured PSU and Joe Paterno’s name associating him with player payments, the irony Joe touting his success in the Grand Experiment not having to pay players. While these alleged payments ( and I stress alleged) connect Blazer-Larry Johnson and son-Eric Maybin and father, no such connection exists with Paterno, at least the way I read the article. My gripe was how Wetzel sensationalized his article with the grabber featuring Paterno and Penn State. So ya, I’m pretty sure it was picking on Penn State.
If it happened, it happened on Joe's watch, and Joe is accountable. Not sure a convicted felon is the most credible witness, but need to let the thing play out.

Well then I’m guessing coaches and players at Ohio State, Notre Dame, Pitt, Alabama, Michigan should be prominently named in the article? Seems fair to me. But then again per the titan, “it’s just everyone picking on Penn State”.
I agree that the HC is accountable for his assistants, and if the allegations are true, the HC should stand tall along with his assistants.
To be clear, my original rant was against Wetzel’s click bait headliner to include Paterno’s name and Penn State on what is actually a basketball scandal with minimal mention of other schools. I just don’t agree with your position on degree of accountability.
My view is based on military experience, where the commanding officer is responsible for everything. Probably should not have application in Civland.
These allegations are going nowhere except in the media articles that sensationalize anything related to PSU & Paterno. If the allegations mentioned PSU only, the NCAA would be all over the issue like flies on S__t! Since these allegations also mention several sacred cows like ND, Meatrchicken & 'Bama, they will ignore them and let it die. Personally, I find it hard to believe that LJ was involved, but that's only my opinion.

FT: My issue isnt with what the felon testified as much as it is with Wetzel's reporting of the testimony. If LJ did indeed do that than I say let the chips fall where they may. I think it was a low blow on Wetzel's part to mention a coach that's been dead for what, 6-7 years now and no mention was made of the other universities involved.
Even you have to admit that article is piss-poor.....

Tsuga, that’s an insult to urine everywhere.
Lake: I forgot that there might be guys on here that are into receiving golden showers. My apology boys, didnt mean to send a negative message to y'all.
This seems pretty easy to clear up. The felon said he paid by check. Produce the cancelled check or STFU.
Lol, hilarious. Cherry pick as you wish . Most likely to get more ugly. Expect to sit out a year from a bowl game. This includes all teams, not just that "Precious Ivory Tower" in the middle of Pennsylvania .
