What exactly is a "good loser"?
Fans think teams are going to play perfect every week and it ain’t going to happen and I’ve got proof, just look at all the upsets every year. I know better and I got mad Saturday after the loss lol. Sometimes you just play like crap and fans including myself need to calm down and just deal with it. Some guys on PennLive want to give up on the season because of one loss lol. I love using Saban as an example because he’s got better players than every team out there and he’s 4* and 5* deep at every position pretty much every year and he has 1 undefeated season so that shows you how easy it is to slip up. We lose 1 stinking game and some people want to give up. I’m a believer in taking a loss out on the next team you play because that’s what I was taught I guess lol. Things are great with penn st football and some of the fans need to just calm down. Just my opinion though
Well said Southern. I remember bumping into the greatest of them all in the team hotel before the '87 Fiesta Bowl. It was right after the pep rally and I was pumped (and a little lubricated, lol). I asked him a very stupid question - "Are we going to win, coach?" He looked at me with a funny look on his face, shrugged his shoulders and said - "We'll have to wait and see. That's why we play the game!
Was more disappointed than mad. Not like the boys in Blue & White weren't trying. We all have days that could have been better, works that way for teams too. It's a game, not life and death.
I’ll go ahead and confess. True story here and learn from ole southern here. Me and the family went down to the lake house where my father-in-law lives and he’s a borderline preacher if you know what I mean. Sunday morning we were watching tv and there was some bad language on tv and it ticked my father-in-law off and he looked at my wife and said are you going to let these kids sit here and watch this garbage and my little girl who was around 10 said oh paw paw we hear worse words than that when penn st is losing and boy did ole southern get a butt kicking from the wife that day. Biggest butt chewing I ever got lol. I stopped gettin so upset after that day but I still probably get to upset but man I just love to win lol

LMAO that is classic Southern! I for one am proud to be a PSU fan and appreciate the culture and what Franklin stands for. No one is perfect but no one cares more than he does about the program and those “kids” and it clearly shows they respect him and give it their all. Enjoy the game and live in the moment.

To what Southern said - yes we were all disappointed last week - but I am on the record for saying that loss doesn't mean squat - win the next 3 and the Big Championship game, we will be in the Playoffs!
