Sean Clifford is going to make a lot of people eat crow this season. The boy has all the tools to go down as one of the best Quarterbacks to ever play at Penn State.
The more and more I hear about this kid Clifford, the more I think the real reason Stevens left is that he knew he wasn't going to beat him for the starting job.
I don't think it was just a clarity thing, or that he was annoyed that he wasn't named the starter... I really do think Clifford was just the better passer of the two. That and Clifford added the ability to run was game over for Stevens.
I was telling bob today that Stevens was probably going to be the 3rd QB. I’ve always thought James Franklin let him walk because Clifford was just better.
That's all well and good. But, does he have SEC speed??
Some people on here like to talk about that SEC speed, but nobody can be beat my buddy. He works for the state. He gets off work everyday at 5 and is home by 3. Now that is fast!

Ageee. Coaches weren’t going to crown Stevens the starter last Spring because they knew Clifford was better. Stevens knew that at best, it was even and as history has it, most coaches will go with the young kid. It will be interesting seeing how both perform this year. I hope they both do well.
