ALL 35 points scored by Oregon developed from the left side of of the Ohio State defense. 21 points scored from running plays and 14 points scored from pass plays. 90% of the pass plays Oregon ran were ALSO to the left side of the Ohio State defense and easily made.Â
Now I am not a coach or an OC, but I would hope Yurcich watched the highlights of that game and saw the same thing. Just watch the highlights on Youtube and see for yourself! Ohio State had no answer and could not stop Oregon on that side of their defense. Nothing long, just nice 5 and 10 yard passes with several a little longer. Even several running plays between the center and left guard worked too.Â
Â
Now the Ohio State offense? Yeah, well, they are good there! I don't recall anyone passing "at will" against our defense, but Stroud is pretty accurate. My hope is we give up 3's and not 7's when Ohio State is in the red zone. Our defense has been relatively stingy this year, so hopefully they keep it going.Â
Â
Didn't see Oregon getting to Stroud and it looks as if they just abandon that idea. I think Penn State has better talent on the ends and may do a better job of this than Oregon did.Â
Â
Ohio State's left of the defense gave Oregon a lot of real estate to play with! Their QB didn't overthrow or underthrow the receivers and the running backs ran the ends virtually untouched for 10 yards or more at a clip quite a few times.Â
Â
That's it, I am done, I hope I got several of you at least thinking this can be a game and looking forward to Saturday night!!!!
Â
GO STATE!!!!!!
Â
Â
Okay, if Yurcich doesn't get that; JF takes a bus out of town and you are next man up 😀.Â
OSU's running back (Henderson) is pretty darn good. In fact, I think he put last year's starter on the bench.Â
Hoping this will be a typical "bend but don't break" defense tomorrow. Our offense needs to sustain drives to keep our D off the field. I don't see that happening. Hope I'm pleasantly surprised.
Could be painful to watch. Kinda like watching a child wrestle a better opponent; you're pretty sure he's gonna lose but ya gotta watch it anyway!!
D is gonna flat out have to contain at 3 and out and O is gonna have to eat up clock and score slow. PSU wins 17-13 or its a OSU blow out in the second half.Â
Call plays that are designed for 4 yard pick ups (run or pass) with the optional long ball (15+) on every play. With this team, 3rd and 2 is a long shot; that's sad but that's reality.
Man up and knock the snot out of someone every play; at least for this game.Â
@been-there-ii: just got my weekend orders. Apparently I'm expected to forego the evening hunt to take some of my grandkids and great grandkids to a trunk or treat.Â
In saying that, there could be a couple fat boys rolled.
@tsuga  I’ve been trunk and treat 2 times already and going again tomorrow night to. My little Tide grandson loves that candy. Our local car wash did a great job with theirs, you get a haunted car wash and get your car washed. Them things are spooky at night you can’t see anything going through lol
I got caught Wednesday. Liam follows pops around everywhere I go and everybody gets jealous and they think I’m giving him crackers because Liam always says he wants some of pops crackers. My wife figured it out I was giving him Kit Kat’s and he thought it was crackers because of the crunch. I gotta way with it about a month but he still follows me around everywhere I go lol. Kids love candy 😂Â
@southern-psu-fan: that sounds pretty cool!! Up our way most of the houses are spaced out 3,4,5 miles apart. So we all head to a local church parking lot and do it up. You can usually wrap Halloween up in 20 minutes and get back to a normal life again. I had hoped to be in the treestand tomorrow eve but the orders from headquarters said otherwise.
@southern-psu-fan: please don't feed the littler feller fried chicken gizzards.!!
@tsuga I like my firefly 2 vaporizer. No smoke, no smell and very seldom that lung busting, can't stop cough....and all the flavor of your favorite lady.
