According to ESPIN, our regular season final game at Michigan St has been moved up to Friday, Nov 24th. No time or TV info was provided. That gives us a short week following our Nov 18th home game vs Rutgers. Hope this doesn't come back to bite us!
Wow, that game could mean a lot too. I don’t like this Thursday and Friday football crap. It’s OK for teams like Appalachian State and sPitt that are desperate for fans and tv revenue but not OK for teams with major conference championship aspirations.
I like having good games on day after thanksgiving hopefully more fans can make the game. I’d rather play Saturday but I’m okay with Friday after thanksgiving because I’m off work. These Thursday night games are brutal for me because I have to work and I get up very early but I’m good with Friday except it hurting high school football that would be the only reason in don’t college Friday night games.
Why is this a problem? If the team has the tools they should win handily without having any trouble. Which I believe Penn state wins.
Latest update on our game with MSU: As previously stated, it's scheduled for Nov. 24th (Black Friday). The game will take place at Ford Field in Detroit which is a domed stadium! That means winter weather won't be a factor (Boo!). Kick off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (prime time) and be televised by NBC.
I'm w/ FT on this one. Both teams have a short week, we have Buttgers, they play the Hosers. Weather for the Sparty game has worked against us the last few trips out there. We should roll.
@been-there-ii we better kick their ASS brother lol
I didn’t realize this game is on Black Friday. Should be a good one !
Mark Wogenrich writing for the Penn Sate Football publication really hit the nail on the head:
"Penn State coach James Franklin might feel less celebratory. His team loses a recovery day during the last week of a debilitating season, which likely will be noted in the coming collective bargaining discussions. It will affect how the Lions approach their previous game (at home vs. Rutgers) and how they will practice for their last two games. It means squeezing one day out of a prep week that also includes Thanksgiving dinner with players and their families. Most of all, it means asking players potentially to sacrifice health for a television contract, which also boosts the players-as-employees argument"
If it turns out that the lack of preparation time costs us in this game the finger can once again be pointed at the head coach and his poor decisions. I believe it was a few years ago that the conference asked universities if they are willing to play on Fridays and Franklins response was that they would be willing in road games but not at home. He could have easily said no.
We should be able to take care of business against Purdue, Illinois, Michigan State and Rutgers regardless when we play ‘em so if these are the teams it’s not like we’re being given a bad hand. Does all big 10 teams take turns playing on Thursday and Friday? It’s also good for teams like Purdue to get a sellout playing big dawgs on Thursday and Friday and that helps with money for them teams.
i think only the teams that agreed to play on days other than Saturday will play Thursday and Friday. We should be able to take care of business against Purdue, Illinois, Michigan State and Rutgers regardless when we play ‘em so if these are the teams it’s not like we’re being given a bad hand. Does all big 10 teams take turns playing on Thursday and Friday? Guys we’re finally gettin this outdoor shower finished. We’ve been working on this thing all day while talking about college football and drinking cold beer lol. We did a low country boil tonight baby and it was good but hot as hell everybody has sweat coming off their forehead lol. We’re all Tide, Georgia and Penn State fans lol
@southern-psu-fan lol Ok, for all us Yankees, WTF is a low country boil? All I can conjure up in my demented brain is, a very tender, puss filled lesion, below the belt.
@been-there-ii lol boil a big huge 10 gal pot full of water seasoned with seafood seasoning of your choice with potatoes. When the potatoes get done add smoke sausage and corn let that boil for 10 or 15 minutes then add the shrimp let it boil until the shrimp turns pink pull the basket out the big pot and dump it on a clean towel and chow down with cold beer of your choice baby. That’s some good chit brother lol
I struggle to figure out how to make pictures small enough to put on here but I may have figured it out lol. We fed 30 people and had leftovers
That’s not what I cooked just showing a picture of what it looks like btw lol
