COLUMBUS, Ohio — Former Ohio Statequarterback Will Howard, a native of Pennsylvania who was overlooked by Penn State in the recruiting process, carried plenty of emotions with him when beating the Nittany Lions in November.
Still, he wouldn’t label the series between Penn State and Ohio State as a rivalry.
“Penn State thinks that their rivals are Ohio State, and Ohio State just doesn’t really see it that way,” Howard said while appearing on the Footbahlin’ podcast with Ben
Pitt and WV is Penn States rivalry so stop the sheet and get these 2 teams back on the schedule every year. Penn St and Ohio St are big games like Georgia and Alabama is so stop the crap and get at least 1 of the games against WV or Pitt back on the schedule and get rid of these gimme games. Howard is being a punk ass because his little feelings are still hurt because Penn St didn’t recruit him but he’s right. James Franklin needs to get off his ass and win some of these big games or his ass needs to hit the road. That ND game still pisses me off!

@been-there-ii our defense was good enough to win the NC the last 2 years if the offense was good enough not to beat us and it wasn’t. That’s always been the formula for Penn State football even under James Franklin. I see the same thing this year. If the offense doesn’t beat us we have a chance to win the NC. I don’t believe the defense takes a step back I believe they’ll be just as good that’s what James Franklin has built on.
We are going to go as far as Allar takes us...No excuses this year...National Championship or bust...We are better and more complete than any team in the country this year...If Franklin doesn't get it done this year I think it is time for him to go...
@the-funeral-director I don’t believe it’s NC or bust because there will be other teams that has the same talent level as we do. Win the conference championship and let’s see what happens. Playing on offense like we did against ND last year will definitely be unacceptable. Losing games when we should win is what bothered me especially with the talent we have. There is no excuse!

Having more Talent doesn't always win the big ones. Making the right calls and making adjustments when needed does.
@jimmy-v Yep, if Franklin keeps winning 10 games a yr, the board wouldn't have the nads to fire him. They'd have to acknowledge that winning is everything vs getting the "kids" a good education. Not happening.

You can't deny the fact that JF brought this team up to speed fast. You gotta give credit and recognition just for that alone.
@jimmy-v I agree with you but it’s time to start winning big games against the heavyweights. It’s unacceptable our offense the last 2 years has stunk up the field in the 6 big games we played especially with the talent we have.
I don’t know BT, Last year might be good enough because we did win 13 games but winning 10 games losing to Ole Miss again might get him fired. Gotta win some big games against the big dawgs. We play 2 big games this year in the regular season just win 1 just to prove we can beat the big dawgs. The ND loss is a loss you keep feeling everyday until something really good happens and beating Michigan St and Rutgers ain’t good enough imo. Fudge ND! 😂

@jimmy-v Oh, I don't have a (much) problem w/ Franklin. Just saying that the folks that want him fired for not winning enough, aren't going to be appeased in the near future. Unless of course he wins a Natty, then that will stop the "Fire Franklin!" talk for a year or two....provided of course, he/they win the Natty every year thereafter.

@been-there-ii I don’t believe we have to win the NC to keep Penn St happy just beating Oregon or Ohio State and winning a game in the playoffs will keep 99% of folks happy. The last big win we had was the Rose Bowl against the PAC champs Utah and the last 2 years the teams we had were better than that one. Just my opinion though which really only matters to me lol

Believe it or not MORON crowds and stadium noise do have an effect on games.
If we lose to Ohio State and Oregon but still make the playoffs and lose that game I believe James Franklin is in trouble. He might not get fired but the seat will be red hot.
