I'm sure the Heisman society is devastated that frat bro, NFL bust, Mr. I'll torpedo my own career Johnny Manziel will no longer attend.

@roaminglion Uh huh. Johnny who? Wonder what he's doing these days, just not interested enough, (too lazy?) to look it up.

All I’m saying is give Reggie his Heisman trophy back especially after we see what’s going on in college football today. Give the man his dam trophy back!

Reggie Bush wasn’t an innocent victim and deserves no sympathy.

From what I’ve seen the last 15 years Reggie Bush has been a role model for young sports fan. He’s been a class act and kept his nose clean unless I’ve missed something. He’s always very positive and fun to watch on TV. Just don’t see nothing to not like the guy. I’m actually a big fan of his, he makes watching sports better when he’s on TV.

All you have to know about Johnny Manziel and his opinion is where he stated: "Do the RIGHT thing @NCAA the ball is in your court."

The NCAA doesn't administer, nor do they have any say, in who the Heisman trophy is given to. The The Heisman Trophy Trust could decide to give Bush's trophy back tomorrow if they wanted, the NCAA can't stop them.

These athletes just blame the NCAA for everything, just like in Basketball where they said it's the NCAA's fault for keeping them from going to the draft. The NBA did that, not the NCAA.

@roaminglion You’re wrong. Heisman trust stated they would reinstate Reggie only if the NCAA reinstated his numbers. NCAA declined and basically stated his offenses would still constitute a NIL infraction today. Heisman trust and NCAA are in a stalemate but to say NCAA doesn’t have any involvement is wrong. Regardless of what you think about Manziel off the field, he earned that Heisman and now he’s using his platform to advocate for another player.

@kularrow  I think what Roam is saying is they can still give him his trophy back regardless of what the ncaa does. They should give it back.

Reggie voluntarily gave up the Heisman due to pressure after the NCAA levied sanctions against him and USC. To the point they physically banned him from campus. The Heisman process is absolutely wedded to the NCAA. There is NCAA eligibility aligned with the Heisman process. The two are mutually exclusive in this process. The NCAA is an archaic agency which has far outlasted its usefulness. All were relegated to is to attack Manziels character because his stance is valid. More high profile winners will follow suit.

@kularrow  I’ll have to take your word for that because I have no clue how all that stuff works. 😂

Rules in place at the time were broken by USC and Reggie Bush. It makes no difference what the rules are now.

@psugrad81  Can’t argue that you’re right I just wish they would reconsider giving him his trophy back. We know how dirty the ncaa is and they probably did threaten Reggie and I don’t like it. It’s just my opinion that they give the man back his trophy.

I don't believe I am wrong and I'm fully aware of the Trust saying that.

The fact is that the Heisman Trust could reinstate Reggie Bush's Heisman if they wanted to tomorrow. They don't NEED the NCAA to do anything... they control the award, not the NCAA.

They made the determination a few years back and said they would reinstate his award if the NCAA added the records back. They aren't being held to that by anyone but themselves. Again, the NCAA has no control over the award and the Trust could change their mind tomorrow and give it back.

I believe you are confusing indirect association with direct control.

To add:

"The ball isn’t completely in the NCAA’s court, as the Heisman Trust is separate from the NCAA and could give Bush his Heisman back without the NCAA’s participation." - Johnny Manziel will boycott Heisman ceremony until Reggie Bush gets his trophy back - NBC Sports

But I thought another poster told us the Heisman was wedded to the NCAA??? How could they do this without the NCAA changing their decision on vacating USC wins and his numbers??? I thought that poster implied I was stupid for saying the Heisman trust could change their mind without the NCAA?

Huh, who would have thought...

This above is what we need to be complaining about. I just can’t understand how any sane person would think that men can play women sports and not have an advantage. It’s totally BS!

Absolutely!  WINO's should not be allowed to compete against real women.  No way, no how, no fair!
