Recruiting took another huge step back today with Parker decomitting and rumors of Hussy soon to be flipping to FLA.
Not to mention the two OL prospects that committed to UM and MSU on Monday. Many thought they were a lock. Not signing those two pretty much assures us of more years of OL woes.....unless we can flip them.
Induce vomiting if this gets you down in life.

Yea most people I follow had Link as a PSU lock for a while and were shocked that he committed to Meatchicken. It will be interesting to see if Smolik flips to us but not much else going on right now.
@psujoe: While losing Parker is gonna sting for a while, missing out on Link (and the name of the other OL prospect escapes me) on the same day is a killer. Have you heard why Link committed to UM?? In your opinion, is there any chance we can flip him back??
Smolik sits behind Allar and Pribula anyway and will probably be portal bound in a few years. His film looked good, but everyone looks good when wearing shorts and a helmet.

Can’t say that I’ve ever read what the deciding factor was for Link choosing Meatchicken but as Southern has stated the last 2 seasons are having an effect that’s keeping us from recruiting at an elite level.
I have to agree with you on Smolik, he would be filler for a recruiting class that’s missed on a lot of high level targets lately.
It seems odd that gaining a QB recruit would not make up for losing an OL recruit but that is where I am.
In recruiting we now live in a world where nothing is a lock, even after they sign. The likelihood of someone from the 2022 class never seeing the field this year and then transferring to another school for next year is almost 100% I'd be more surprised if that didnt happen.
Heck... didnt some kid last year commit to USC, then decommited and signed with Texas early, only to transfer out even before the season started? Strange times
@roaminglion are you just trying to depress us Roam? 😂
Sadly he’s just facing reality. And yes it is depressing.
@rip Since we haven't seen his name mentioned much, if at all, most of the preseason, I think you probably guessed right.
@rip Another space just opened up for a walk on, Holmes no longer on the roster.
I believe he got an early look at the depth chart of which he sits at or near the bottom
@southern-psu-fan I haven’t read anything about him being in the doghouse but did read that some sort of injury had set him back and the 2 freshmen were about to pass him on the depth chart.

I believe no matter where he ends up, he would still have 4 years of eligibility left due to the COVID year and last year's redshirt. Good luck to him if he does transfer.
Who knows though, he may still be in college 10 years from now making $1 million a year with endorsements while working on his 5th Masters degree due to changes that reflect "even 30 year olds should still be able to play if they are in school". The way things are going 🤣

Actually I don't think this is too far fetched to some degree, depending on NIL/other payments; some players aren't gonna make it in the NFL out of the gate, so might as well stay in school and play ball for a few bucks while living the dream.
