Start with HC first
I'm hearing Manny to Duke is pretty much a done deal. I sure hope I'm wrong. What have you heard??
If he's gone do we promote Poindexter or look elsewhere??
I haven’t heard it’s a done deal but have heard people say they think he’ll take it if offered.

@forum-titan Belly Acher's club is on the other thread.
I just tell it as is. Franklin adopted and implemented his own "COVER MY ASS POLICY " It's goody goody for him. For his assistants It's curtains drapes and blinds. If you can't see the light now, you never will.

Referring to the post about who got in this year?
Yes, it's true. I honestly believe the players and coaches of the teams left out, such as Florida State are well over it. Don't worry though because 2024 will be much better and fair for all teams.
@psujoe From what I've read it seems that Jim Knowles is the front runner for the job. It's been confirmed that he's met with them, and was meeting again in Vegas. I'd think Knowles has a better shot at the job since he was at Duke for almost 8 years as DC under Cutcliffe. So he knows the school well.
I don't know why, but Manny Diaz just doesn't seem like the right fit at Duke to me.
@roaminglion I hope you’re right too but the Duke job seems like a perfect fit for him to me.
Manny is gone. This year or next. This years Defense was special and the offense wasted an opportunity to make the playoffs. Start grieving now. Manny Diaz isn’t a long term solution it’s just not realistic.

When Manny leaves, I could see him at a school like UCF, UNC, Arizona or even staying on a PSU. If JF doesn't pull it off in 2 years max and Manny is still on staff and turning out top 5ish Ds, he'd be a natural successor. IMO, he needs to get the next job right, another bummer as a HC could easily put him back in the coordinator or maybe mid tier programs rotation. Another option would be another year or two with PSU, top 5ish D, and off to the NFL as a D coordinator.

Franklin has said many times that he expects two years out of his coordinators before they move on. Way to go out on a limb with your prediction.
Oh hey thanks for the observation about my prediction. I usually get those types of responses from Middle Aged men on forums when they’re in denial because they’re favorite coordinator doesn’t want to miss the playoffs again and actually has dare I say better opportunities out there. Thanks for stopping by. I wish your boy James Franklins expectations for having a winning record against ranked competition was as high as it is for his coordinators to move on.Manny is gone. T-Hale barely comments in the football forum, and now Franklin is "his boy"? Lmao fantasyland.Oh hey thanks for the observation about my prediction. I'll be 31 in a few days, that hardly makes me middle aged.
Help me out here. Is it:
Their,there,or they're favorite coordinator?
AND
Is it Franklins expectations or Franklin's expectations??
Lastly, you may want to work on those sentence run-ons. They make you look as foolish as FT. Oh wait..
@t-hale I bet YOU’RE fun at parties, I know roaming is. I know bring up grammar because that’s a winning argument in a forum. I’m sorry I have to be the one who has to break up this PSU love fest in the football boards. I actually graduated from State College so it’s ironic that my grammar and the football team have that in common. THEY’RE both mediocre.
FT/KULARROW/PRESIDENT TRUMP
Your girlfriend doesn’t need you to jump in and save her. Also, because I actually work for a living I might not have time to do this later. CONGRATULATIONS on 6 years and 7000 posts of passive aggressive non sense and off center college football commentary. As the boards most senior football analyst, enjoy it!T-Hale barely comments in the football forum, and now Franklin is "his boy"? Why is next year better? I can remember a couple years ago people were saying we’d be good in ‘23 and then national championship contenders in ‘24 but it seems as though we’re going to lose a lot of key players through early departure to the draft.
