This is my take on the coaching situation regarding the coordinators...Something just doesn't add up with all of this...These guys have both had success pretty much everywhere they have coached...Nobody has been more critical of the coaching than me...Moreso on the offensive side of the football...I don't think the game planning on the defensive side of the ball was bad...I don't think he had the right person spying the QB from UCLA...He was too slow and as a matter of fact that same player was consistently slow to fill his gap responsibilities in the run game as well...I am shocked they don't have a speed backer to replace Rojas and I am also shocked at how important he was to that defense...His loss is nothing short of catastrophic...Lets move on to the offense now...I can't understand how all of a sudden this offensive coordinator forgot the importance of motion and formation that he utilized at his prior coaching stops...I refuse to believe that this guy all of sudden abandoned his principles and forgot how to coach...Look at the tape when this guy was at Kansas...He has much better personnel here and is doing less with more...You have to ask yourself why and what in THEEEE hell is going on? The offense I am watching isn't even a shell of what he ran at Kansas and he has far superior personnel here to work with...It just doesn't add up...These guys just didn't all of a sudden forget how to coach...I ain't buying it...
@the-funeral-director the defense in the big 12 suck at best so that could have something to do with it and KA may not have had a true prostyle QB playing out of position. Hack was put in James Franklin lap but he recruited DA.
I ain't talking about the defenses he coached against or even the results...I am talking about his use of formations and motion to create space and get guys open...Fundamentally this offense has no resemblance to what he ran when he was at Kansas...I hate to say it but it looks just like the offense the guy before him ran outside of a vanilla gadget play now and then...There is NO creativity whatsoever...NONE, Zip, Zero and friggin NADA...There is no mystery in that offense and to gameplan against them is as easy as it gets...I don't understand it...
