I think there will be an effort to establish the run game and to stretch the field with the receivers. Both will be successful but not graceful. On the defensive side, I think the boys learned a lesson against Indiana and will be on their game. From the coaching standpoint, James won’t try a 2-point conversion but might attempt a fake punt or kick. At the conclusion, Penn State rolls over Rutger 55 - 13.
That actually sounds like a reasonable prediction.
I don't know what to expect. We'll be playing Jimmy ball on offense, that's for sure! I think Manny bails us out to get the win. Wouldn't be surprised to see our D outscore our O, lol.
Close, Southern. I've just lost all my confidence in Jimmy! I've tried to keep an open mind and give him the benefit of the doubt, but my doubt has run out of benefits, lol.
@rip Maybe they’ll pitch the ball to the running backs so they can get a better read on the defense and get outside if it is open, maybe they’ll use a Tight End as a wing back and run a jet sweep, maybe they’ll get the receivers involved in the run game with a reverse, maybe they’ll use the A&P Package in spots other than the goal line ……..
anything’s possible …… Michigan might stop playing the victim.
@tae-buetel Maybe they’ll kick the extra point instead of going for two?
I predict a lot of obvious empty seats but attendance will still be announced at 106,000+. Almost everyone I've talked to this week has said they don't care about these last two games.
I personally won't be there and won't be watching
It’s disappointing we didn’t get a win against Michigan and Ohio State but the team still has a lot to play for. We can still get 11 wins and a peach bowl win assuming we go to the peach bowl. It’ll be interesting to see how michigan and Ohio St game turns out. If both offenses struggle it may just be one of those years where the defenses are just that good because it ain’t like Ohio St and Michigan were good on offense their defense got the stops on 3rd downs and ours didn’t on a few critical plays and that was the difference.
Pitchout? Is that still legal? Is that like putting the QB under center?
The proven things that we have to regurgitate every once in a while. Now that drop kick is probably not good.
One thing I have learned to do under JF is to enjoy the game day experience....this is the only thing I can control! Nice ride through Coopers gap, a cold beer and a sub. Pretty much my noon time kickoff routine! It's not about me, it's about supporting the team and they can use it tomorrow.
GO STATE, POUND RUTGERS!
@mtnittanylion we only get 13 games a year. I’m going to watch every game if I can. I missed the Ohio St game because my niece got married but I watched it a couple days later.
