Interesting watch from FTB. Kind of similiar to the Film Studies they do. Analysis starts around 1:30 in the video. Seems like PJ was too light last year at 300 pounds and that's why he was pushed out to the 3-Technique while Shelton played more inside. Sounds like Mustipher's 25 extra pounds will let him take over for Shelton -- where hopefully he can be more disruptive -- and allow someone lighter and quicker like Beamon to do what Mustipher couldn't do at the 3-Technique last season. Anyway, interesting analysis. Worth the 20 or so minutes.
Interesting analysis. It's not all about weight. It's also footwork and how you move your hips. Ok, so you have a 330 pound lineman standing 6'5 pushing you back. Ok, I will step back and give a slight little tug. Guaranteed he loses balance. Now I can shred him and I got off my man. Physics 101.
@forum-titan Agreed, but I think PJ is athletic enough to handle the extra weight. If you looked at some of the footage Penn State released from the two Beaver Stadium scrimmages, PJ doesn't look any different at 326 than 300. I'm hopeful he has a season so good this year he doesn't need to have another at Penn State

Never hurts to have more body mass and athletism. Nice to have more mass and build. Protect from injuries.

Depends on the mass... If it's muscle it will probably help, but simply adding fat or mass doesn't increase injury resistance.
