The games that are replacing Pitt on the future schedules are as follows:
2020 & 2025 - Virginia Tech / 2021 & 2022 - Auburn / 2023 & 2024 - West Virginia
All 3 of those team are far better programs than Pitt. All have won multiple conference titles this century. All have been ranked as a top ten team this century. All are currently better teams than Pitt.

They’ve had ONE 10 win season and 2 nine win seasons since 1982, have only finished the season ranked 4 times since 1984 and the highest was 15. They’ve had 14 even or sub .500 years. In the same time span PSU has 15 ten win seasons with 8 nine win seasons with only 6 sub .500 seasons. Sorry loser, they are a mid pack to cupcake team. Roam got it right also, they've been replaced with a MUCH better group of teams....and as for 51-43, Pitt won the majority of those 43 from 1913 - 1940. 21 of them actually. What in-state rivalry does Wisconsin have?? How about Oklahoma or Nebraska?? The fact is, there are several "major college programs" that don't have an in-state rivalry thus lending very little credence to your statement.....in other words you lied. The PSU/Pitt rivalry is a thing of the past. The game lost its relevance when Pitt chose to go in another direction. Before you make any more outlandish comments, I would suggest you do a bit of research.

If Pitt has a poor historical record , even though they are in a Power 5 conference, cant they be equated to a cupcake? Im for knocking off the Kent States, Ap states, etc... and replace them with Pitt. There are plenty of other Power 5’s that play 2 non-conf power 5’s every year. Why cant we?

Oklahoma? Are you serious? Man, you just lose all respect with that post, considering Oklahoma has a huge rivalry with Oklahoma State called Bedlam. The rivalry manifests itself throughout all their sports programs, it's a very big deal.

West Virginia, Syracuse, Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Boston College, Temple, Maryland, Notre Dame, Indiana, none of them have a “considered” in-state rival that they could claim as a very important team to them
