See links. Interesting analysis from the Director of Content from PFF on some Penn State guys. Was really humbling to hear how much Ciarrocca put the clamps on Clifford late in the year...which kind of makes Dotson's breakout 2020 all the more impressive.
Clifford will be licking his chops with Dotson and Washington. imo the best 2 WR’s on the field at the same time Penn State has ever had and that’s saying something. Clifford will be good but these 2 dudes just might make him the best QB in the big 10. Y’all heard it from ole southern, Clifford will be an all big 10 QB 2021 you just wait and see😁
I love Dotson and Washington... and I loved KJ Hamler too... but one thing I think has been lacking since Godwin left is that true "X" receiver. That tall, physical guy who matches up well at the split end. The receiver that is on the line, quick or strong enough to take on press coverage, and be a large presence on the field. I still hold true to the belief that all things considered, Godwin was a bigger loss than Barkley because Sanders was a great alternative. However, no one has replaced the type of presence Godwin and Robinson before him had. Had Godwin stayed, I believe we would have made the playoff. The offense would have been unstoppable.
Dotson is a TERRIFIC Z receiver or slot guy. Same for Washington. And against many teams that is enough, and you can get very good production. However, the missing piece IMO to be a truly phenomenal offense is the X. We've just plain missed on recruiting those guys. Haven't found that guy in 5 years now, and just imagine what this offense could do if Dotson and Washington had a big, physical receiver on the other side. My hope is a guy like that steps up. Perhaps it is Dottin, maybe George finally figures it out. Though one recruit that really intrigues me is Lonnie White Jr. He's big, physical, and an exception athlete. If he matures quickly he could certain fill that role.
yep, JJ was supposed to be that guy he was good but not on the Godwin level, Godwin was a beast.
