Penn State: The whisper in the profession is James Franklin is targeting University of Miami receivers coach Taylor Stubblefield as the Nittany Lions’ new receivers coach. Stubblefield was an All-American receiver at Purdue. He would go on to have short stints in the NFL and CFL before beginning his coaching career. This was his first season at Miami, after having coached receivers at Air Force, Toronto Argos, Utah, Wake Forest, New Mexico, Central Michigan, Illinois State, Eastern Michigan and Central Washington.

Don't know the name, but there doesn't seem to be the "wow" factor if indeed this is the hire.

Is it the Stubblefield that played for Miami back in the day when the Canes were dominate? That’s if I’m remembering correctly lol the name sounds familiar

No this guy played at Purdue when Kyle Ortton was the QB.

Looking at his resume this is going to be another 1 and done, maybe 2 years if we're lucky kinda guy.

Not saying it's bad, just saying get ready for a coaching search again very soon. LOL

Yes, doesn't seem to stay in one place for long. But hey, if he can teach more than one WR to catch the ball consistently in the season or two he's here, I'll be happy.

Looks to me like a budget hire - finding anyone willing to accept pay grade being offered.

I don't agree, seems like he's a guy steadily moving up the ladder because he's effective at what he does.

Also, this is a WR coach, it's not like there's a big gap in pay for this type of position. Coordinators yes, position coaches? Not so much.

Yep, 1st thing that came to mind.  I wonder if Barbour has anything to do with this.

Even know I still think it, I will retract my previous statement since Niccy agrees with it, so therefore, I must have been wrong!
