I predict this and also predict their opponent will be (drum roll)....Iowa State.
What 3 teams do you think we are going to defeat to get to 6 wins?
It will be a dog fight to get to 6 or 7 wins because NW and Wisconsin both have bad QB’s and we still couldn’t get the wins. Our defense is bad especially the DL
@psujoe Purdue, Rutgers and Maryland.
Hell I aint even sure about Purdue...we ain't beating Rutgers.. Maryland maybe... This is a bad team... Spent all that money on a stadium to field a product like this... A joke...
@roaminglion the team won’t quit everybody is just frustrated. All this ain’t on MC this goes back the last few years. We gotta give the man a few years to fix what we watched last night.

Who are the leaders on this team? Rojas and who else? Someone needs to step up.
They raised my season tickets price next year $3,000 per year.....I only have two seats. I refuse to pay this after 30 years of having great seats. And the biggest reason I am not paying that money is because I am tired of watching them beat up on bad teams and then lose to the good teams. Well, now they are losing to the "not so" good teams too!
Hope they can fund that new stadium expansion! Ain't getting the funds from me! This is a typical PSU mindset.
I think about that game and I ask myself if we can possibly be as uncompetitive as the black years with no scholarships. A game like Friday makes it hard to create a cohesive team and over achieve and that was the hope.
That being said we may find out NW is a top 4 team in the B10...and we all ask, how can that be?
In all fairness, PK screwed the goose with no coach in waiting when he fired JF; MC has to pick up the pile and put together what he can, yeah he could have made a real push to keep Grunk and a few others but that only looks good after the fact of seeing those players doing well somewhere else and even then the situation is totally different and is a probability vs reality until said and done.
Going forward, MC and PK have to recruit and pay, and meld the players into a unit; melding is MC's job and we will see how good he is at forming a team in today's game; not every coach can do that effectively.
Re location, too some degree that is bullshit, imo. Hell there is nothing worth noting close to Tuscaloosa, players came there to play for Saban and win championships; same goes for Athens-players go there to play for Kirby and win championships; same goes for Clemson SC- players went there to play for Dabo and win championships... Interestingly I don't recall hearing or reading about any player at Bama complaining about not having anywhere to go away from campus; I guess Saban would have said, "there is, go back home", "next man up".
Money and being paid is now the norm but I dont see TA&M lighting it up, nor a lot of other programs who are laying out the bread. Still comes down to having a coach who can put it all together: recruiting, personality management, scheming, and getting it done.
I will add one other thought that I think most people don't consider with equal importance; if the university admin is not 100% behind the product and/or doesn't remove the barriers, it's a long row to hoe for a coach; you see this every day with other businesses and departments within. As the old saying goes, everyy organization is exceptionally designed to achieve the outcomes it gets; or something like that.
Well, that kept me on the couch with a cup of Joe, have a great rest of day.
I'm a '95 grad and have been following PSU all my life (born in 74 ... parents die hard PSU fans in the 80s), and with the exception of the 1993 team when I was in college (terrible ... I lost all care), this is the worst Penn State team. Even since the early 2000s ... at least then, we had Zack Mills who left his heart on the field and gave it his all. Hell...even Sean Clifford led the game with fire and taking incredibly dangerous hits. I've drank the kool-aid for decades, but perhaps the team felt like I did before the season. I had no idea who these guys are!! Okay...we have Donkoh and Rappleyea ... Rojas and Dixon. Who is everybody else? Didn't track their recruiting .. have no idea who they are ...AND... they aren't Northeast Pennsylvania boys. I was hoping that having a bunch of 3 star rejects from other teams (see UCLA defensive tackles) was some sort of magic, but it isn't. It was clear in every game this year that our defensive line SUCKS. I was screaming to my son during the Wisconsin game that there is ZERO pressure on the opposing team's quarterback. I don't see that changing ... can't remember the last time PSU had a bad DEFENSE. Yes and... What the F*$& is with D'Anton Lynn not loading the box by the end of the 1st quarter. Borderline retarded. Did Northwestern's receivers 'scare him'. All around retardation. I read that Tony Rojas said they weren't prepared for the Winged T. Say what!?! It's bad ...
@psu61 if you miss on your QB it don’t matter what kind of money you spent and Texas A&M is a prime example.
Forgot a few recognizables ... Cooper Cousins ... well that's it. The person most to blame here (and hear this) is ... James Franklin. If the man had even a shred of integrity or love for PSU, he would not have raided the cupboard when he left and encouraged the entire 2026 recruiting class to bail. A selfless person would have helped PSU KEEP those players and build the team ... even as he leaves. That is grace. That is integrity. James Franklin is SELFISH which was always the problem ... does not fit with PA values and Penn State culture. Neither does the stadium expansion nor the glitz and glamour. Joe knew this ... Penn State was DIFFERENT. You can't win in State College with a Northeast population in decline going head-to-head with the South. Joe had an industrially strong PA with stud blue collar family kids. What we saw against Northwestern weren't football players but entitled princesses. The only good news out of all of this is MATT CAMPBELL IS THE RIGHT FIT FOR PSU AND CAN TURN IT AROUND. But he must do so FULL TILT ... get hard nosed players. We all know that Hollywood Pat Kraft is an a-hole and needs to go. It will be said to see the stadium expansion empty cause this ain't getting turned around for at least another couple of years. PSU does NOT have the cash to compete with the oil barons. The only way I see this getting fixed (and fixed right) is no to repeat Wisconsin's plan ... give Matt Campbell TIME to recruit 4-5 star high schoolers and develop them. The 'cruitin pool will never be PSU's savior ... we don't have cash to compete and we don't have the Kurt Cignetti savant. By the way, Kurt Cignetti will start to sputter out over the next year or two...you watch. His hit on portal gold was a one of one. The successful coaches are ones like what we just saw at Wisconsin and Northwestern...REALLY GOOD COACHES. Matt Campbel is one of those...give him time.
By the way ...
Fixable = Offensive line (Talent is there ...get mean), Quinton Martin, Tight Ends, Receivers (especially with return of Koby Howard) and Rocco Becht (He is better than last two games).
Not Fixable = Defensive line and all linebackers not named Tony Rojas. Absolutely DEVOID of talent there ... no fixing it. We have a great secondary...doesn't matter with ZERO pressure on QB.
With a NON-FIXABLE defense, it will be a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong season. I'm likely to tune out.
Joe knew that defense is priority #1 ... which is why he moved running backs to linebacker. Maybe we should have our entire offensive line and running back rotation play defense too. There is no fixing this defense. Bunch of fat lard-asses ... no speed, no strength. Just FAT.

I just posted on here yesterday that people aren’t buying in. Season tickets are being cancelled and NIL donations have slowed dramatically.
If you don't have an O'line, no QB is gonna survive.
If you don't have a Dline, D is not gonna survive.
Hell, Trent Dilfer won a superbowl, lol!
