Oklahoma being ranked in the top 5 is a joke...Penn State needs to keep winning and the polls will take care of themselves...The SEC refs were at it in the Memphis game as well...Why isn't this bigger news? Their officiating crews have been pulling this baloney for years...If any other conference had crews pulling this garbage they would be shouting from the roof tops...The SEC is a garbage conference...
6 is good. While we haven't had the biggest win I guess, we have had the biggest 3 wins. We could be higher and if we were higher it would help if we have a loss. It is always scary as PSU because you feel like if you win the B10 but you have one loss you won't get to dance. Even if we lose to Iowa if we win the rest including the B10 championship against Iowa or Wisconsin then we should be in.
Simple fact is this: We win our next three games and we'll enter the bye week in the top 3.
That will be a great time to get some rest.
I can honestly say I am still NOT sure just how good we are. The one thing I am REALLY happy about is that WE ARE winning these close games instead of finding a way to lose them. Clifford still makes me nervous. If he is going to beat teams like Iowa and Ohio State, he has got make those routine pass plays! I know he went 28 for 32, but several of those 28 were great catches and NOT great passes. And that interception right before half??? That cost them a possible FG that would have come in handy the last 3 minutes of the game.
I think that was a good game for the Dline to have. They are getting some great hype, but Auburn brought them back to reality which I think was a good thing. No doubt they stepped up at then end and kept Auburn out of the end zone!!! And had they made they pick 6 for a TD, I think PSU would have blown Auburn right out of the stadium the rest of the game. 21-10 at halftime would have changed the scenery at Beaver Stadium in the second half. Nix and Bigsby did a great job not letting the crowd disrupt their game. Nix made some errors, but I thought overall he was able to keep the crowd out of his head....IMO.
I am with you on the next three games. Got to take care of Villanova early and get some of these younger guys some more game time experience. Indiana will be another good test, but one would think PENN STATE circled THIS game on their schedule right after last years loss!!! Iowa? I honestly believe Penn State has the edge. Penn State will have two more home games to work on some things and then I think they will be ready for Iowa! As much as Clifford still makes me nervous, he is showing some great signs of leading this Penn State offense.
