who’s your #2 team if you have one. Ga Tech is mine as most of you know lol. I did notice Mr Collins is bringing in Tech at #26 in recruiting rankings this year now he needs to start winning some games lol
Growing up in Southwest PA, I was a diehard Penn State fan from the beginning.
1979 watched PSU and Alabama, Never thought I would see another team with plain uniforms like Penn State. From that point on Alabama was my second team.
I followed ND for a blip because I was a huge Bettis fan, quickest jump cut on a man that big.
1975 for me nitnation I was watching Penn State play the Tide I was 7 years old. I loved the uniforms
PSU #1
Naval Academy #2
ARMY STRONG !!!!!
PSU all the way for me since the mid seventies - but the Flutie experience did make BC an interesting watch in the 80's.
PSU is my number one. I was young in the eighties but remember my dad and brother always watching them. But the nineties especially the 94 team was so exciting I was totally all in and have been ever since. I root for the Philadelphia sports teams. But PSU football is my never miss a game team.
#1 Lions all the way
#2 Appreciate and respect the service academy teams
and I'll throw in a #3 - USC (awesome cheerleaders)

What you really meant to say was," My #1 team is PennStAbama Baby!"

I grew up watching Alabama football. Some of my earliest memories of my father are watching the Tide on TV, feeling like I was on top of the world spending time with my Dad. It was a very special bond we always had.
When it came time to go to college, obviously I went to Penn State. The feelings and emotional ties I developed there made PSU #1 for me... Easily. Same reason Alabama was #1 for my dad, the memories of undergrad are just so strong for some people.
It became a really nice rivalry for us. He was always PSU #2 because I went there. We'd share in the successes and failures of each team.
His health started failing around 2010 when PSU was going to go visit Tuscaloosa, we had bought tickets but couldn't go. We made a pact to go the next year when they were at PSU, and he was so excited for it. Sadly he passed away days before the game, and his funeral was the day of the game. After the burial, there was a family gathering. I told my mom that I was sorry, but I had to leave... to go listen to the game with dad. We made a pact and I was keeping it, and she completely understood. I went back to the cemetery, put on my Penn State jersey, laid a Alabama jersey on his grave, and sat in the rain listening to the game with him on the radio. I think if I hadn't been able to do that with him, I'd have regretted it to this day.
This is why both schools are so close to my heart.
Born and raised 20 mins away from Happy Valley, Penn State has been the only team for me. However, Navy became my #2 this year. I have been in the Terwilliger building once a month for the past 6 months and I just toured the Stadium yesterday with the Stadium manager....The Naval Acad Football is one my clients. Loved the Stadium, not a bad seat in the house. Small, not Beaver stadium, but how cool it must be to watch a game there. The AD is a great guy. I have been working with him upgrading the interiors...what a good guy! Got a photo holding Staubach's Hiesman trophy....those things are heavy!!
GO STATE!
#1 PSU tied with North Texas
I was born and raised PSU (both parents and grandfather [going back to the 1920s] graduated PSU), I was about 2 weeks old when I attended my 1st game at Beaver Stadium, but I did my undergrad at North Texas and became a diehard fan during my time there. They've never played each other, so I've never had to choose one over the other. If they did, it would depend--a win like that would be huge for UNT; but if PSU was legitimately in the hunt for a playoff spot, I couldn't root against them.
I was born in Atlanta and I love Ga Tech but when they play Penn State they can take a hike baby. If Penn State was 3-8 and Ga Tech was 11-0 I’d still pull for Penn State lol
