For a team that crushed Nebraska, being a 10 point favorite doesn't surprise me.  They know how close it has been in the past few years.  Wouldn't it be something if Ohio state loses on the Road.  It can very well happen.  Ohio state hates playing in state college and they know very well that they can't slip or fall asleep.

Who the heck knows, this is 2020 so I wouldn't be surprised by anything.

Hey, Penn State can hang this weekend.  Ohio States defense has some concerns and they know it. I am NO expert, but after watching some of the Nebraska game, Penn State should be able to move the ball...especially Clifford with some well designed QB draws.  Ohio State is going to score some points, but Penn State can score too.  They started finding a groove late ( too late ) against Indiana, but you could see the team starting to progress...at least I did.

Just like I stated before the Indiana game, the Lions were ONLY a 7 point favorite but yet ranked in the top 10.  Now they are ONLY a 10 point underdog against a very good Ohio State team....and there is reason for this too!

Want to forget about the Indiana loss?  Well, knock off the Buck's and the Indiana loss will be long forgotten!

GO STATE!!

PS:  I hope Ford has a breakout game and just tears it up this weekend! I think this kid is going to be something to watch down the road and I would like to see him put last weeks hiccup behind him.  I hope he realizes how much he is needed this weekend and that NOBODY holds him accountable for last weeks loss!

Agreed, but if by some chance we're up in the 4th Qt and the clock is winding down under 2 min., bench him and take the knee, lol.

@mtnittanylion I agree, I was just talking with my buddy that OSU's D looked a little shaky.  Definitely not the D we are use to facing so we can take advantage of that in the run game.  And their run game was non existent except for Fields, which our linebackers are better than Nebraska's so we should be ready for that.

If Clifford can get out of his head and prep for OSU's secondary and sluggish pass rush, we can eat them up through the air too.  Sucks loosing some key players so early this year, but our Freshman looked decent last weekend and we can still come out strong to save the season!

I think Penn State will win on Saturday - they are a very talented group and their backs are against the wall.

My fear is Clifford is not comfortable throwing downfield or to WRs in general. He seems fine throwing to the TE's and slot guys over the middle, but doesn't look comfortable throwing outside or deep. Not sure why.

Franklin is a good guy and a good recruiter. That said, he has an average "football mind" and is awful with quick football decisions or in-game adjustments. Heck, we had Ohio State beat in three of the last 4 outings..........double-digit 4th quarter leads. Franklin is clueless.

Vs Indiana, we were up with 1:45 to go and had th ball on the IN 10 yard line. The ONLY ways to lose were a) turnover; b) score a TD and therefore give IN a chance to score to tie the game. SURELY any D 1 coach is smart enough to tell his guys to "take a knee" on the 1 or 2 yard lines. Heck, most high school coaches know that. Heck, my wife was hollering that..........but Franklin was clueless.

Perhaps someone was hollering to go down from the sideline, but this should have been explicitly stated to all of the offensive players PRIOR TO taking the field.

Oh my gosh. Yet another bonehead decision (or lack of decision) by Franklin

@pennstate1976

I’ll preface this by saying I like Franklin and think he is a very good fit for PSU. With that said, I agree with you, he is an average game day coach. I don’t know why the ball was ever handed to Ford? Have Clifford run around for a few seconds then take a knee. IN would have most certainly taken their final TO prior to the second down play with about 1:45-1:50 left. Have Clifford do the same thing the next 3 plays while drawing the play clock each time to 1-2 seconds. Give the ball back to IN on downs around their own ten yard line with less than a minute to go. Most likely, game over with PSU 1 point win. However, I also don’t like the pattern of Pry’s defense giving up game winning drives in big games. It’s a disturbing trend. They can’t seem to get a stop with the game on the line. The Big Ten Championship game against Wisconsin is the only successful stop I can think of.

@lionbacker99 I agree 99, Pry and the defense need to step their game up going forward that’s about 5 games the defense has Cost us the last 3 or 4 years. Penalties, not gettin the the INT’s and not gettin the stops is killing us. Hopefully they got a foot in the butt over the Indiana game that was a hard pill to swollow letting Indiana score 4 straight times.

@tae-buetel  I loved our chances before Brown and Cain went down. I just don’t know with a 3rd string RB. I seen 2 or 3 runs last week where brown or Cain would’ve took it to the house. #24 will be a stud down the road that kid can go.
