Absolutely no respect for Penn St. whoever wrote this article must not think Penn St has a chance because Penn St is not even mentioned to have a chance.

My money is on Oregon and I have no clue why you would think we should be mentioned in conference or NC conversations.

We are a third tier program right now.

IMO we have a bad perception problem. The perception is we can’t win a big game and we can’t recruit or develop WR’s and it’s up to MC to change that. I got proof on WR’s because we had 2 dudes that went to the SEC  and was pretty dang good and both these dudes could’ve been on the field at the same time in 2024. The 2 problems we had are gone and the perception needs to change.

@psujoe I believe Dan Lanning is another James Franklin maybe a little better it’s not like he’s won anything and he’s had the talent to get it done. Homer, you seen the difference in games after James Franklin was fired and the way Grunk was playing and Grunk wasn’t the reason we lost to Indiana and Iowa them 2 losses were on Jim Knowles. You’ll see this year just wait and see.

Respect is earned, WTF did we do last year to deserve being in this conversation?

Yep.  Just like we were when JoePa became HC.  If you remember, very few of our games were even telecast back them.  It took a few years, but JoePa changed that and we were justly recognized as a power to be reckoned with.  Let's see if our new HC can do the same for our image today.  I hope so, but he's gotta do more than transform us into Iowa St. East!

You don't gain resoect by firing a coach. You gain it by the next coach winning.

You want the program to get respect...Here is how you get respect...You kick the shit out of USC in your building...Go out to Michigan and kick the shit out of them in their building...You go out to Washington and kick the shit out of them in their building and beat the teams you should beat...Go to the B1G championship game and kick the shit out of whoever you play there and make a run in the CFP or dare I say win the thing...That is how you get respect...How do you respect a program with the record they have against top teams? This is going to be a very interesting season for the Penn State football program...I can tell you from my perspective that if they don't win any of those big games this year it is going to be tough sledding for the program moving forward as I don't see the NIL investment necessary to turn this thing around to be a competitive top tier program...We are going to find out this season if this program is going to ascend or be swallowed up in mediocrity...What concerns me the most is the fact that this fan base isn't accustomed to mediocrity and that big stadium is going to be half empty most of the time if this team isn't competing for conference and national championships...As of this moment they got 5 teams rated better than Penn State...Ohio State, Oregon, Indiana, USC and Michigan...That makes them #6 in the conference which is middle of the pack...We are going to know after USC what we got...

@the-funeral-director that’s what the king of the road did the great Bobby Bowden. He went everywhere on the road and kicked ass and this is what MC needs to do and light that scoreboard up baby!

I don't think they have been or are being disrespected at all...I believe everybody is taking the wait and see approach...I ain't saying nothing...I will be watching and will give my opinion after the season...What I am going to say is losing to USC, Michigan & Washington ain't gonna cut it...And if they lose to those 3 teams and tack another loss on and go 8-4 it is not going to be a good situation...It is more of the same...This is going to be a very interesting season...I for one hope this coach is as good as everybody says he is...I am praying this guy gets the program to turn the corner...I wish he would have gotten a little more support and a lot more NIL money to work with...
