@southern-psu-fan This is about Title IX. Basically, the Biden administration said NIL was subject to title IX, meaning there had to be equal compensation for women and men.
Which was BS and I am glad Trump rescinded it. NIL is about a player's marketability, not their sex or gender.
The last I heard the female gymnast from LSU was the highest NIL athlete in college sports...The markets set themselves as for who gets the most cash...I may be mistaken but I believe this is going to undo Title IX for scholarships as well...I don't believe this is limited to just NIL deals...I could be wrong with my interpretation of all of this...I also agree with you Roam regarding the NIL thing...That is a market situation that should decide where the money goes...
Trump did not do anything other than have his Education Dept. rescind Biden's order to treat NIL as Title IX funding. Nothing to do with changing anything else... The Education Dept. simply said that they were reversing the nine-page Title IX guidance on Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) issued in the final days of the Biden administration.
