Ohio State Buckeyes defensive end Nick Bosa has had surgery to fix a core muscle injury and Ohio State say's there is no timetable for his return, Head Coach Urban Meyer said on a radio show Thursday.
They will have a stud replacement ready for next week, ready to go.
"42-7 , a route!"
Next man up....we lost our starting DE as well! It’s all part of the game.
Whoever thinks that that ANY team is going to replace a 1st team all American and not be affected is delusional ... He is a huge loss and it is going to schematically affect their defense significantly.... To think that this isn't going to affect their defense in a negative way is pure delusion ... Huge loss for them... Both from a talent.stanpoint and even more from a leadership standpoint... I hate to see these kids get hurt... Hopefully he has a speedy and full recovery... But this still is a significant loss for that ball club and one that they will not be able to fully replace ..
Well said FD.
Agree FD but Ohio st probably has another 5* waiting his turn.
I'm already hearing the whining from my Ohio State friends... Then again, the look on their face when I remind them we lost our starting DE for the year last year, lost our 2nd DE in the OSU game last year, AND lost our starting LT in the OSU game and they shut up pretty quick.
I'm going to take a flyer predicting that Meyer will "dig deep" into his bench and find a suitable replacement!
Ole cousin Urban can dig ftom here to China trying to find a replacement for a consensus All American and top 3 NFL draft pick but he ain't gonna find one... No matter how anybody wants to spin this the bottom line is this guy will not be replaced and whoever they try to use to replace him will be a major down grade... That is all there is to it...
Never said that Meyer will find a replacement that matches Bosa's skill level. But he will find a "suitable" replacement. I'm guessing that player will be Jonathon Cooper, 4 star coming out of HS. He's currently in a three man rotation with Bosa and Young.
I agree with you MB. OSU's defense still looked pretty good even after Bosa went down. Bosa will be hard to replace for sure, but the next man up (whoever that is) certainly won't be a pushover. Its possible that Tyreke Smith gets some reps this week.
Hope Bosa recovers nicely.
I don't think anybody hopes the kid doesn't recover...I hate to see these kids get hurt...I want this kid to get back to 100% ASAP...I hope and pray his surgery went well and he is on the mend and back out there playing to his potential ASAP...I don't think anybody wishes injury or harm for any of these players...It's the part of the game I despise the most...
I ain’t going to lie, I hope he’s back to a 100% and plays the week after we play ‘em lol....just win baby!
I was thinking the same thing, Southern. lol
