I agree 61. Seeing all these teams make their moves today tells me Penn St doesn’t have a coach. Better get Manny on the phone and get him hired. the dude has Duke in the ACC championship game in his second year and they went 9-4 last year he’s worth taking a chance on. I personally don’t think it’s taking a chance but I know some here are judging him on the 21-15 record at Miami.
The biggest shit show has been all the rumors and speculation involving coaches that were never candidates for the job.
@psujoe unless some of the coaches that Penn State targeted didn’t pan out for whatever reason so I get that but the backup plan needed to be Manny or Fitzgerald that’s 2 good coaches that would fit right in. I know Penn St tried to get their guy but it didn’t happen as what we see today maybe they have something up their sleeve. Anybody we’ve talked about will be better that Lincoln Riley for gods sake go get Hartline.
I haven't been disappointed yet 🤐 Meyer would have made me reconsider my Saturdays. Saban and Golden, not interested. Still not sure why FL colleges have dropped off so much but Golden was a flop. Ruhl has done better at Rutgers than Golden did at Miami. I get Miami was a vinyl chloride rail fire. I think Terry is unproven and if he wants a HC job he needs to go to a MAC or similar. I still hope we can keep some cultural PSU coaches but I understand.
Sad that JF couldn't get out of his own way for some reason. It will make me sick if he adjusts and gets VT in the Top 10 (Top of ACC).
@been-there-ii I’m pretty sure they tried to get somebody like Elko and probably a few more but missed out. Surely they didn’t fire James Franklin and not try and get another coach?

Somebody got their ass puckered and made a preemptive decision based on the third loss and figured no problem with getting a top tier HC to come in

@been-there-ii I’m sure Pat is trying his best to get the best guy available but if you don’t get him have a good backup plan. Maybe he does well have to wait and see but it ain’t looking good today. It’s above my pay grade as well I’m just trying to connect the dots on everything I hear and read about.

I’ve heard good things about the guy so I believe he’s trying his best but that doesn’t mean he didn’t mess up. We’ll have to wait and see. I take what that dude Zack says with a grain of salt but the Landon tengwall dude I trust his opinion he’s who I listen to most of the time. I may have spelled his name wrong.

IDT they’ve hired anyone based on the assumption that interviews are still going on. Otherwise, to continue wasting time and money at this stage as a supposed deflection, is bush league.

One thing this search has definitely proven is that nothing any of those guys say can be believed and anyone paying money to read their BS is being duped.
Juat a complete guess. but my thoughts are Kraft wants Deboer and wasn't happy when Alabama pulled it out at the end. If it was Lincoln Riley for sure. we'd have heard by know IMO. No reason to wait, unless you are still hoping for someone still in-season like Deboer or Hartline?

At this point I think the only reason you’re waiting for someone is because you already have them locked up.
Might be some kind of stipulation that an announcement can’t be made untill the season is over or something similar.
