I said all weekend we are missing something here...Franklin just basically backed my opinion up: "on what are we missing that Noah Cain didn't get more than 5 carries. Franklin says there are "a thousand points" that go into decision making like practice and film, etc. "We're very pleased with Noah," he said.".....there were reasons undisclosed basically

Yeah... Like I always say they have way more information based on fact over our emotional opinions.

I agree with the comments above. There has to be an underlying factor involved in his decision not to play Cain more. JF is too smart of a coach not to see that he is a better running back than the other 3, especially what he has done late in the games.

@wnylion

The question keeps coming up because no one is buying the "four back rotation" reason any longer.  Come up with a better response or just say "no comment" or "I've already addressed it."

There is nothing to "not buy" he told you already.  You don't have all the information that the staff has.

Please don't say you do, it sounds rediculous and you really don't.

Well,  let’s just hope Michigan State gets an azz full of Noah Cain Saturday  and we put a beat down on ‘em, I can live with that.

Agreed, Southern.  We need to feed Cain and hope the OL lives up to their recent national recognition!

Crazy idea, but each fan can decide for themselves. I know, I know... people making up their own minds and forming their own opinions? How insane is that?

Nothing crazy about it at all... What is crazy is when people that have .5% of the information and think their opinion out weighs the people (coaches) that have all of the information to determine personnel decisions.

To me that is the perfect example of insanity...

I don't believe any of us feel that our opinions out weighs  that of the coaches.  After all, the coaches are the only ones that can make a decision or act on an issue, be it right or wrong.  However, we're all entitled to voice our opinion on an issue and to criticize decisions made by the coaches if we don't agree.  We/re not acting crazy!  It's really a big part of being a fan and participating in this forum.

I agree with Bob, I don't see why we have to write a disclaimer every time we talk like *This is only my opinion and does not outweigh coaches.

It should be granted, kinda common knowledge that we all vent on here from time to time and no... we aren't saying that we are better college coaches. LOL, it is exactly what boards like this are for. Stating opinions, many of which probably have to do with coaching.

I've also heard this no information/all the information argument before. It's been used time and time again to shoot down any criticism whatsoever of anyone.

My point still stands...

I have no issue with opinions only when people think it outweighs facts.  No disclaimer needed.

The no information/all the information is just a fact of being a fan.  We don't have that much, some like to pretend they do, the coaches have way more. It's just a fact and I agree if we were better coaches we would be in their shoes.

What I find is that the people that use opinion based on not much information tend to have an agenda and regardless of what coach says they somehow have a better feel for his own team.

Great executives make great quotes that make everybody believe what they want to believe.

Cain actually knows something so the quote works for him if he is in trouble or not.

Fans read it as Cain is actually not getting more time because he is being punished for some unmentioned behavior.

Other Lawnboyz are allowed to believe there are a thousand reasons there is still a competition if they like.

MSU gets to read it how they like.

If the public is tired of the 'open competition' quote this was a great meaningless statement to quiet the masses.

I've left meetings with smooth talking executives where I thought I got my way only to realize hours later that it was just what I wanted to hear.  My opposition thought he won also.

Joe would have said 'next question' or 'none of your business' or 'he's a freshman' and the media hated it.  Franklin is a good communicator and recruiter.

I will interpret it as, I'm not ready to force anyone to transfer yet. While I tell you MSU, MSU, MSU I am looking at every game this year and next.  Next year should be GREAT, this year has potential.

It's my opinion that the RB rotation is holding the offense back, and preventing us from being as consistent and dangerous as we could be. I believe Cain starting with Brown as his 2nd would go a long way towards making this offense better.

THAT SAID... who knows what Franklin is doing it. I think it is because he wants to please everyone and can't make a decision... much like last year where we all wondered why Koa Farmer was still playing, let alone starting ahead of our leading tackler. However, there could be good reasons behind his thinking that he just can't or won't share. So... 🤷

All in all, I like coach Franklin and think he's done a great job.
