A Georgia State QB has been told by doctors to sit out the season do to COVID related Myocarditis. He is not the first one either, an Indiana Offensive Lineman has also been diagnosed with heart complications after being infected. He wants to play, but has not been cleared to practice. There are others too. This is a major reason why the Big Ten and PAC 12 are worried about COVID...  aside from spreading the disease and death there are reports that some individuals can develop heart issues. These two kids found out about their problems, but how many others haven't?

I'm not saying I agree or disagree with their decision not to play. I'm just attempting to explain how they are looking at things. We all know how devastating to a program one kid dying can be, just look at Maryland. That kid dies from complications and the football program imploded. Can you imagine the chitstorm the SEC, Big 12, and ACC will get if only a few kids have heart issues, or even worse die? I'm talking like 1, 2, or 3. That many. People would go nuts.

Ok.  Fake news.  Freshman get very serous physicals coming on to campus.  It happens a lot that they find problems.  I remember many heart issues happening in the past.  Probably from steroids.  Schools don't let them practice until they pass a physical.  This has nothing to do with Covid and is a normal part of athletics.  Same with 90 year old's dying in nursing homes being blamed on Covid.  Totally fake news.

So now doctors are lying about the football players. The parents are lying about their kids. Everyone is lying... except people like you who have never even met the kids involved but "know what is really going on"

Got it

Lying is a strong allegation. OMPA1 may be correct. He may be misinformed. So many including the medical community don’t know everything about covid. We are still learning. I share the heart concerns but there are many medical experts that do not. The B1G exercised an abundance of caution which I support. Time will reveal if the decision to suspend athletics this fall was the right thing to do.

I didn't say OMPA1 was lying, he's saying the doctors (and parents) of the kids with medical issues are. Or that they are incompetent and just said the heart issue was from COVID for no reason.

...and there's a big difference between not understanding fully how a virus works, and being able to diagnose how it affected your body after you had it.

I did not say you said OMPA1 was lying. Lying was the word you used. I assumed that the casual nature of  forums allows for brevity. Figured folks would read at all the posts and synthesize them. No need to be defensive Roam. Peace.

Wasn't defensive, just clarifying... We're good, sometimes tone really doesn't come through on a message board 😁
