I think it’s a good move. I believe he needs to get back to his style of football and find him a QB.

It's a good move cause he sucks and it is good for PSU. Who TF cares about what is good for Hairball!! But what do I care, as long as he doesn't start coaching curling...

And hopefully contributes to PSU continued recruiting success in Michigan.

I agree with southern on this , Harbaugh may be polarizing, but he didnt turn stupid overnight...He's been to 3 NFC title games, one super bowl...He's 49-22 at UM, not what they want but not chopped liver either Three 10 win seasons, one 9 win season...A disastrous yr this yr, but Id be reluctant to jettison  a coach with his proven track record of success, just because of this pandemic affected yr..

And in a conference where OSU is clearly the superior program, and everyone else is lining up for 2nd place, Im sure Harbaugh can get UM back to that spot rather easily...His real challenge is getting a win over OSU.., and  to which the program aspires..

@culture-thrives Sooner or later, if Harbaugh can't beat OSU, the alum will get tired of him.

@been-there-ii...and that's why the contract is probably good for both parties, as I understand it    From UM's standpoint, it lowers the annual salary, puts in incentives, and provides  a lower buyout....makes it fairly easy to move on from him...While JIm can tell recruits, look  Im signed thru 2026, IM going nowhere..

Ohio St has the best players in the big 10 only have a stud QB gives the other teams a chance of winning you’ve got to have a stud QB to beat ‘em. I think the transfer portal also helps even the playing field it helps finds position needs now instead of waiting to develop players.

@southern-psu-fan...Being  a traditionalist, and a purist, southern, Im  not  a big fan of the transfer portal, it seems to remove any semblance of amateurism, if there is any pretext left, and it will evolve into a free agency system, that's what it is..but I do see what youre saying, and it can immediately aid  a program...I must admit I was happy last week, when ND facing the loss of QB Ian Book, and two inexperienced QBS returning, with one incoming frosh, reached into the transfer portal for Wisconson QB Jack Coan

So, as they say, I guess we all have our price    lol..

I disagree, most other sports in college already allow transfers and have for some time.

Harbaugh got this contract because Michigan panicked because the word here in New York was that he was the Jets pick to be the next head coach...I don't know how far the talks went or if there even were any but it was reported here that he was the coach they were eyeballing...I am happy Michigan kept him...I don't want him anywhere near my beloved New York Jets...

Here’s some of our conversations when Harbaugh was feeling the heat. If the seat wasn’t hot then why are we all having these conversations?

I don't know how many times I have to say this, you keep talking about after the 2020 season. You specifically stated "Harbaugh was on the verge of getting fired before he brought in JJ"

He wasn't, at all. He had just be given a contract extension after the 2021 season. Stop it. All of these posts were BEFORE the 2021 season, and JJ McCarthy HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. Harbaugh, in no way, shape, or form was saved from being fired by JJ McCarthy like you stated.
