McCarthy is the exact opposite of that, reports that he's a hard worker, takes to coaching very well, and his teammates love him and follow him as a leader. Talent wise though, he doesn't have the raw talent of others. However, I'd take a McCarthy all day long over guys like Manziel.
IMO he's a guy who will be in the NFL for a while, though I doubt as a top tier QB. I'd imagine a backup is his ceiling due to his skills... but QB's are so hard to project.
