If Minnesota wins their next two games against Iowa and Northwestern, they win the West. Even if they lose to Wisconsin. Which would be very strange if Wisconsin wins it's last 3 games, because it would mean both teams would be 6-1 in the division with Wisconsin holding the head to head tiebreaker.
Only issue? Games against the other division count for some reason, and Wisconsin played Ohio State. LMAO... So Minnesota would "win" the West without actually having the best record in the division.

I am not an expert here, but it appears that when two teams are tied, this is the tie breaker. It's when three teams are tied that it's get complicated.
Murray? You know this stuff. What's the deal?
"If two teams are tied, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative"

I said it in my previous post, all conference games count so they really would not be tied. Minnesota would be 8-1 in conference and Wisconsin would be 7-2. Thus Minnesota wins the West even though Wisky technically had a better record within the division.
You are probably right. Everything I am reading in the rules points to "head to head" winner. BUT, Iowa would only have one loss and Wisconsin would have 2....so I see what you are saying. I just don't see that in the rules. I thought several years ago somebody posted something that said ONLY the division wins and losses counted with head to head determining the winner in the even of a tie.
The following procedure will determine the representative from each division in the event of a tie:
(a) If two teams are tied, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative.
Nevermind, I just read where Wisconsin is 2 games behind Minny, so if minny goes 3-1 with their only loss to Wisconsin, they still make the Championship game....good grief!
HEY PENN STATE, JUST WIN THE NEXT THREE GAMES AND GET YOU SOME OF THAT GOPHER MEET AGAIN!!!!
Tell ya what Roam, if Penn State pulls a rabbit out of their hat and wins the East, I would rather play Minny again than Wisconsin! That was a total UPSET of UPSETS yesterday! Don't care what anyone else says, Minny had NO Biz being in that game! Kind of like last years Michigan game, the LIONS where NO WHERE ready to play and looked like they had other things on their mind. They need to get focused and come out swinging against Indiana! They lost to Minny, so what! Thier road to the playoff is through Columbus and it was always that way once they made it past Iowa, UM and MSU. The way I see it, they had a game to give yesterday as long as it wasn't Ohio State who they gave it to.

yep, I'm telling you if Ole Miss can beat Alabama and pitt can beat Clemson... and those teams can still make the playoff, we can still make the playoff after losing to an undefeated Minnesota team...
and man oh man how fun would it be to get revenge on them in the championship game!
If Minnesota wins more big 10 games they should get in over Wisconsin in the big 10 championship ain’t nothing tricky about that.

yes there is something tricky about it, one played Ohio State and the other didn't.
It's kind of dumb when you base who wins the Division off of games played outside the division.
