Interesting to see he's the only true freshman on the Blue squad. Not to read too much into it, but it seems fairly certain that he's going to be a green light in the fall. From what I read, he is already penciled in as the 2nd string SAM linebacker behind Cam Brown.
This makes a lot of sense, as Luketa always seemed like a WILL or MIKE and there's a lack of talented depth at the SAM spot. Brandon Smith is on the white team, but I think that's more because there's two entrenched MIKE LBs from last year (Brooks & Johnson).
But man o man, I am having dreams of a resurgent Linebacker U... Can you imagine if all three LBs live up to the hype and we have a starting LB core of Dixon at SAM, Smith at MIKE, and Parsons at WILL? That trio has the potential to be the most gifted LB core we've ever had.
