If this New OC is a hit; will he replace JF as head coach next year?? I gotta tell ya, I'm an old fart and I dont go for this hired gun bullsh*t. My inside *sources* tell me that Yourcich could very well be on a lot of team's short list when the head coaching carousel begins to turn next year.
It was a ballsy move firing Rocco and after a year at that. It just goes to show you that JF read this board and values our input. I'm sure gonna miss those QB runs up the middle 23 times a game.

If We have a great year this year Rocco would’ve been gone anyway this new OC is better from everything I’m reading and hearing about. Good move by James Franklin we need a playoff run and this guy gives us a better chance. I just wish we could hire coaches that has easy names to spell I just got Rocco down dang it.

@the-funeral-director. I know some of y’all don’t like the Tide and Patriots but for goodness sakes both of these teams were average at best when Saban and Belichick took over these teams. You don’t accidentally win the Super Bowls and NC’s that these 2 coaches have. FD, stop listening to whoever is telling you this stuff man they are lying to you 😂
My guess is:
- JF felt the hot seat but the buyout is too much with nothing in waiting.
- Rocco was a sacrificial lamb or he saw the writing on the wall e.g. can't work with JF for whatever reason and made that known; Rocco looks like a no nonsense type of guy.
- Yurcich could very well be a HC is waiting. Team turns around, JF wants out (ACC or PAC 10), Y wants HC, all's good.
- Next change is gonna be DC if that mess doesn't get turned around b/c the pattern is on wall with that unit.
- BOT is looking at revenues and expenses and is sending the message, gitter done one way or the other.

Speaking of Belichick the dude has won 6 Super Bowls as a head coach, won a couple as an assistant coach and has lost 3 or 4. This dude is Mr Super Bowl and now he’s going to get a medal of freedom award the man just keeps adding to his accomplishments. Well that’s what the news says on google anyway. Yes they fell into the right situations but gotta ask though, who else has accomplished what they have done; rightly, wrongly, or otherwise? I don’t think anyone but I could be wrong.
I think what they have done is taken advantage of their situation and executed. How they did that, I don’t know but the fact is they still had/have to field a team and those teams consistently win man up or man down.
@southern-psu-fan Yeah, but, now that Brady is gone, NE faltered a bit and TB is in the playoffs. Though, I think the Saints will put an end to that.
@psu61. I like both coaches but I’m not a fan of either team IMO you’re looking at 2 of the best coaches in all of sports.
I agree SPF. Fact of the matter is that NE wasn’t anything to write home about and Bama was a storied program that had its ups and downs until Saban got there. IMO when both coaches leave both teams are gonna skid. NE is skidding now but I expected that without Brady etc. will be interesting to see what happens in NE over the next 2 years. May be that BE moves on especially if he can’t get the right QB.
What did Billie Boy Bellicheat do in Cleveland? One season without his hall of fame QB and he don't make the playoffs...How bout tricky Nicky Saban? Another fraud...He didn't do anything at Michigan State...He goes to LSU with a ready made team and wins a title...How did he do in Miami with the Dolphins? Of course Tricky Nicky and Billy Boy Bellicheat go back as Tricky Nicky was on his staff in Cleveland...Tricky Nicky had one good season at Michigan State and cashed in...I actually don't mind either team and back in the late 90's and early 2000's I had the privilege of having lunch a few times with Mal Moore who at the time was the AD at Alabama. The folks at Alabama were quite classy and actually had a lot of admiration and praise for Penn State...The Truly great coaches win wherever they coach...These 2 frauds can't say that...

Your NFL memory is probably better than mine FD but I thought Cleveland made the playoffs when Belichick was there and slick Nick was great at Michigan State they were garbage when he took over them and LSU and Alabama were average at best LSU probably below average. Brother, they built these 2 teams Alabama and NE to dynasties championships out the azz. FD, I honestly don’t know where you’re coming from on this to say these guys are frauds you don’t win 6 SB’s and 6 NC’s by accident. Saban was 15-17 at Miami which ain’t bad considering he spent just 2 years there I’m sure he had to rebuild ‘em or they wouldn’t have hired him in. FD, have you been sneaking around with ole Pipe?
