I think he deserves the to be the starting QB but my biggest fear is if he tries to be McS. Miles S had some big shoes to fill and all in all I thought he did a nice job this year. Can Tommy do the same filling the McS shoes?
Stevens will go into the spring as the starting qb. My hunch is we will have a freshman qb next year.
I don't think Stevens will try to be McSorely, he's a fifth year senior and all reports are that he handles pressure well and is a gamer. My only concern is how can he read a defense? Does he know where and when to throw the ball?
We know he is a tall physical presence with a rocket arm... but if he can't read a D then he'll just be a running back playing QB.
I have confidence that they will make the correct choice. It’s going to be a tough battle. There’s some good quarterback ready to battle.

Oh yeah, of course. 4 kids really up for the job IMO: Stevens, Clifford, and Johnson Jr. and Roberson.
I'd be surprised if it goes to one of the youngsters though as I'd bet on it being Stevens or Clifford. Just a gut feeling
I think Tommy Stevens will be good and will be great if he can make the right calls when he sees where the defense lines up. He’ll be better with his feet than McSorely was but can he be the decision maker McSorely was?

Exactly my thought Southern. If there was a way to put McSorley's brain in Stevens body I'm all for it! LMAO
We are in the era of standout true freshmen quarterbacks. We have 2 coming in.
The job is Tommy's to lose. Anybody else will have to show he's clearly better than Tommy to win the starting job.
Remember when McSorley and Stevens were battling it out for the starting job after Hack left? The two basically came out even. Franklin basically said that the only reason they gave the nod to McSorley was because he had more game experience.
Now Tommy has by far the most game experience. It would be inconsistent of the staff to give the job to anyone else who doesn't clearly take the job away.
I think Joe would come out great either way, he beat A LOT of great teams and A LOT of his bowl wins were major bowls.
But yeah, it does matter. Racking up a bunch of wins against FCS schools like Bowden did to raise his total doesn't impress me.
