It is the responsibility of the coaches to hone the skills of the players and to ensure they are properly focused. Great job by the Defense in getting a sack on 1st and 10 ........... and then they peacocked and Indiana got 22 yards on the next play. And then Indiana drove down the field with little resistance.
On the touchdown catch, the Indiana player should have been launched into the 3rd row by #6. The receiver was in the air, but #6 was unaware of the ball until it was in the hands of the receiver.
The players appear to be unfocused and undisciplined, and that is the responsibility of the coaches.
We had the lead against Iowa, Oregon, Indiana and lost late. This won’t get better until change is made at DC. You better pray the OC from Ohio State doesn’t get this job because it will be a painful 3 years if he does. All the problems we have will be fixed day 1 if Manny is the man which I believe he will be the man. Penn St is just waiting on a few more wins from Duke. If Duke goes on a losing streak they’ll go to plan B.
I don't think I've seen #6 actually make a hard tackle this season. Seems to want to put his face mask in the dirt and lower his shoulder and hope the runner/receiver trips and falls.
That last play, he should have chucked the receiver into the concession stand, but of all plays he decides to body bump the receiver in mid air, doesn't even push him, looks like the dude is scared of hurting his hands!
It won't get better this year, and it isn't the DC. It was the head coach, it just fell apart this year.We had the lead against Iowa, Oregon, Indiana and lost late. Our defense folded even when Manny was here against good teams. You love Manny all you want, what did his defenses do against Ohio State and Michigan? Tom Allen defense was decent right? He looks like ass at Clemson. I'm sure everyone there is singing the same tune about him that you're singing here about Knowles.
Simple fact is this: This team gave up on Franklin after Oregon. You know it, I know it, we all know it. After that happens, it's real, real hard to get them back. To his credit, Terry Smith has done an admirable job getting these kids to play hard. But folding is a hard habit to break, and that's what Franklin's teams did for years.
Cig said it tonight, "they refused to lose", you see this day in and day out with well coached teams and players who believe. Hell I see it on the pickleball courts with doubles teams who get down 6-8 points and those exceptional teams just dig and get it done most of the time, yeah, I know not the greatest example, but that mentality permeates all successful people, and they just don't make stupid mistakes at crunch time and find a way to pull it out or get damn close; same goes in high level organizations.
JF didn't have it, and neither do some of the players on the field.
Another big game, another late lead and another choke by Penn State We don’t just need a new coaching staff, we need a new culture and new players that believe they can win.
Get rid of the entire coaching staff and let most of these players portal to another school then bring in new and start over.
You hit it, there needs to be a culture of doing your best may not be good enough; and I don't give a shit about potential, because by the time someone tells you the third time that you have potential, that means, you haven't done shit.
The program needs a culture of believing you can win no matter the circumstances and demonstrating that. It will take time but that time starts on day one.
And if you don't believe that, I suggest you pour yourself a healthy shot of Wilderness Trail Rye Whiskey, and get with the program! LOL!
Well #17 Grunk I believe laid it all out on the field I believe this dude can play. I also believe #10 and #13 give it their all today as well. The defense is killing me.

True as that is, it feels like the offense does not PLAY COMPLIMENTARY FOOTBALL. They do not possess the ball an even amount of time and they do not win the field possession game. Defense does OK but must be low ranked for 3rd and long. Today they were OK, the QB rush hurt several times and two ridiculous catches were the game.
While the defense is disappointing the offense is more disappointing to me.
@underlion I don’t believe in luck the defense is always a half step behind and that’s why these plays look like luck when they shouldn’t have been in position to make the catches. It’s every game so it’s a pattern by the defense to find ways not to get the stops when the game is on the line.
I’m watching Duke and this is a good game. I’m watching just to see if Manny can get the wins to get the Penn St job. Both offenses look better than the defense 😂 hopefully Duke can get the stop the next 5 minutes
This Duke QB is good. If we get Manny we probably get him as well. He has 2 years left. UCONN QB is good too.
I tried to console a friend by telling him "better days are coming". It didn't work. He just looked at me sadly and said "they better get here fast".

Most of the starters on this team obviously read the things people were saying about them before the season even started and it went to their heads. It also didn’t help that our idiot ex head coach was also telling news sites that he had his most talented team ever. I thought it might be the wrong message when he said it and obviously it was. It’s time to sit a lot of the ineffective starters and find out which of the young guys want a future at PSU.
Don't guess NIL is long term...hope it is related to performance not ranking. Could lead to every man for himself.
I have said it for a while now, that "1-0" culture was a poison that made player tight in close games. Just firing the coach won't change that in a few weeks. We need, for lack of a better phrase, a culture warrior to come in a change things.Another big game, another late lead and another choke by Penn State We don’t just need a new coaching staff, we need a new culture and new players that believe they can win.

IMO the culture of not having a QB competition the last 3 years has destroyed this team and having the attitude we gotta fix the defense with Jim Knowles when the QB was a shit show in the playoffs last year. When you try and fix something that ain’t broke and won’t try and fix what is broken it will have a devastating ending in a bad way. Don’t do anything about the QB but let’s turn the defense upside down with a new system…smh baby because this was an easy fix just play #9
I heard with my own ears that Tony Rojas wants Manny. Jim Mora might be a guy to also look at. Y’all remember how bad UCONN was and he has the 7-3 they beat Duke and their QB can play. I don’t want the Missouri dude either.
Jim Mora is a good coach and he might be the splash that Penn St needs and he’s recruiting pretty good in the NE or they wouldn’t be 7-3 right now because UCONN was stinking it up when he took over that program. Just saying
If they did get Jim mora I don’t believe he would go anywhere if he’s winning of course which I do believe he will win. I don’t remember what happened out at UCLA but I remember him getting them back competitive again or maybe not I can’t remember. He was good with the Falcons for a few years but like most NFL coaches it didn’t end good after a few years but he was good a few years for sure. The NFL is a different breed but he does bring that knowledge to the table. I’d be just as happy with him as I would be Manny because I know what we are getting in Jim mora just like I know what we’re getting with Manny. OC’s we don’t know and that might have a bad ending.
