for Cincinnati now. This is what I’m seeing today because of Oklahoma losing. If Alabama, Oregon and Ohio St win out Cincinnati ain’t gettin in Georgia imo will be the other team getting in as long as they don’t get blown out by Alabama. If Georgia beats Alabama I believe Cincinnati gets in as things stand today. If the tide loses they would drop to 5th because if they drop to 4th that means Georgia has to play them 2 straight times and I don’t see that happening. The CFP is giving the power 5 teams a chance to keep Cincinnati out by Alabama knocking off the dawgs. This is the way I see it today but things can change if teams lose. I really don’t think Alabama can beat Georgia

If Bama beats UGA and Cinn runs the gauntlet then I think they both should be in and UGA is on the outside looking in.

Why??  Because my brother lives in GA and is a die hard UGA fan and I really don't want them making the playoffs.

Interesting note: If Arkansas loses this week to Alabama and Clemson loses to Wake Forest, which are both likely...

That means Georgia would have played ZERO currently ranked teams. Zilch. Nada. None. The only team with 3 losses would be Kentucky, and that's only if UK beats Louisville.

Anyone who thinks Georgia has had a "tough" schedule this year is out of their mind. It will be interesting to see how they match up with Bama, should they meet as expected.

@roaminglion  I don’t see Arkansas hanging with Alabama I believe the Tide will give ‘em a butt kicking. I’m with ya I just don’t know how good the SEC is and Georgia really ain’t beat nobody. It’ll be an interesting game with Alabama because I don’t know how good either team is really. If Alabama beats Georgia in a close game I believe the CFP committee will put both teams in. Cincinnati imo needs Oregon or Ohio St to lose to get in. This committee wants 2 SEC teams from what I see.

@psujoe   They got ‘em 5th and when Oklahoma got beat that was a huge for them gettin a Chance to get in. I don’t think Alabama can beat Georgia going on by what I’ve seen this year and the SEC looks a little down this year we’ll definitely see when bowl season gets here but the SEC might take it on the chin this year in bowl games.if any one of the top 4 teams get beat besides Georgia I believe Cincinnati gets in as things look today you know things can change every Saturday.

I've been following the back & forth Southern and I'm pulling for you.  I haven't chimed in because if we ain't gettin in, I don't care who gets in, LOL.  Besides, I have my plate full with all the darn leaves I have to get rid of around our house!

Cincy will get in if they win out, or we will have a 12 team playoff by 2023.

The CFP is already taking it on the chin for their ridiculous statement about Michigan "being a more complete team" than Michigan State after MSU beat them a week earlier.

If Cincy gets left out, it's over. People on the fence will cave and no one could justify the system only having 4 slots anymore, because it's about big names and not on field results.

At least 12 is enough to include spots for teams like Cincy.

Hate to say it, leave ‘em out to force a 12 team playoff.

on the other hand I’d like to see em get in and win it all.

It may seem that way, but I just look stuff up half the time to make sure. LOL

@roaminglion

Let's take it a little further:

1) Alabama.....1 win over a currently ranked team ( #25 Ole Miss )

2) Ohio State....ZERO wins over a currently ranked team

3) Oregon.....1 win over a currently ranked team ( #4 Ohio State )

4) Cincy.....1 win over a currently ranked team ( #8 ND )

5) Sparty....1 win over a currently ranked team ( #5 Michigan )

6) Michigan....Zero wins over a currently ranked team

7) ND.....1 win over a currently Ranked team ( #15 Wisconsin )

8) Okla State.....1 win over a currently ranked team ( #11 baylor )

9) Wake Forest....1 win over a currently ranked team ( #20 NC State )

10) Baylor.....TWO wins over a currently ranked team ( #13 Okla and #14 BYU )

What could have been for the Nittany Lions !!! 3 of their losses are against " Currently Ranked" teams ( #4 Ohio State, #5 Mich and #17 Iowa)  and they have a 1 win over a currently ranked team ( #15 Wisconsin ).  If they beat Iowa and Mich, they would only have 2 wins over currently ranked teams.....Iowa would have dropped out.

The way I see it, Penn State could have lost that Ohio State game and still had a very high chance of the CFP playoffs.
