By comparison the PSU defense is made up of one 3 Star (Brown) and the rest are all solid to upper 4 star recruits with one of those being a few percentage points from being a 5 star. 

@psujoe  IMO stars matter and I’m predicting 45-17.

Sorry to disagree, Southern.  I don't go for stars, I believe heart is what really matters.  Too many times I've seen the blue chippers fall on their face while the walk-on no names gets the job done.  

Stars matter, but it's NOT ALL that matters. 

75% stars and the rest of what matters splits the other 25% lol….Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Georgia are examples of the stars matter when you have a good coach. USC when Pete Carroll was there he had 5* players on the team from all over the country.  Coaching absolutely helps but having 5* QB’s really goes a long way.

I believe you're right there, Roam.  I just don't think many of them were 4* & 5* recruits.  

@rip Great coaching/developing players and overachieving on the field is what Ferentz does. Such a shame he’s wasted his career in Iowa.
