I was James Franklin’s QB in 2013 & tore my ACL in Game 7. I wanted to play on it. 3 wks later I was cleared by the doctors to play at Florida... Franklin thought I was rushing it & chose to protect me & told me I’d start vs Kentucky the next week. Be better.

As a parent of a son with an injury, absolute and total BS!!!!!!
Coach Franklin and his staff have NEVER interfered with a player and their medical rehab. They operate as two totally separate entities. What the medical staff says is what goes. This lawsuit and article are total BS.

Even if the Doctor is in the wrong,  penn state had no right to let him go. That's retaliation. I'm going to sit back on this. Of course you will find previous players that will stick up for Franklin. There might be more to this, perhaps a "smoking gun ", some sort of email or proof that his statement is true.  Honestly,  my opinion is both Franklin and Sandy are toxic to the university.  Both need to go.

The only one that needs to go is YOU!!! Keep swingin!!!

It will come out that Lynch was let go for performance reasons. He’s looking to save his reputation.

Sounds about right.  Look what Franklin did with Mcsorely.  Played him hobbling around on the field,  limping.  Fits the picture...

Trace had to be cleared to be put out on the field... 1000's of players play with some sort of injury and they are cleared by medical staff.  Kids play with torn MCL's in high school

Well I guess we'll find out soon enough.  This is from a story on Yahoo:

Lynch says that he reported Franklin’s behavior to at least four different sources. Not only did that include athletic director Sandy Barbour and senior associate athletic director Charmelle Green, he also says he reached out to the school’s Athletic Integrity Officer, Robert Borland, and Dr. Kevin P. Black, the school’s chair orthopedics and rehabilitation.

To me this just sounds like a doctor who hated talkin to Franklin at all, because he was the doctor and shouldn't need to explain anything to the coach.

I'm at this point... I think the good Dr.s ego had a hard time dealing with questions coming from a football coach and that is far from interference etc.

As long as the personnel action (removing his duties as team orthopedic physician) was not in retaliation for his having filed a complaint against CJF and Sandy, an employer can take an action against the "whistleblower".  The guy does not become a sacred cow by filing the complaint. It is an issue of proof, and I suspect there is a rebuttable presumption that the action was in retaliation.   If documentation is in place that the administration wanted patients treated at SC rather than Hershey that presumption may be overcome.

I can guarantee you that Wiretap, Bullet Bob and their minions at the rag know as PennLive and Patriot News will be making this into the biggest scandal in sports... It's remarkable how quiet these 2 imbecilic hacks were when the doctor at Michigan State and the doctor at Ohio State were under investigation for their shananigans... This was a non story and is a non story and will never amount to anything other than a disgruntled employee lashing out and trying to embarrass his employer....My attention is on the 1st game Saturday afternoon vs. Idaho. . I wanna here Pipes anual first game upset prediction and his pontificating about how bad Penn State looks and that they will be fortunate to win 6 games and be bowl eligible....How bout we hit a local watering hole in Aristes Saturday and hoist a few "cracklin Corona's " and watch the game? What do u say Pipe?

Suzy, perhaps you need to funnel that anger towards your own university.  Seriously bud, your team doctor was giving BJ's and hand jobs to athletes for years...but this has you outraged??  Keep swinging sister

There was an SI article written 5 years ago that Penn State was making a mistake by putting the team doctor in Hershey, and that they should be based in State College. So obviously, there is a lot out there backing up the decision to move the team doctor responsibilities to SC.

Add to that the fact that Lynch STILL WORKS FOR PENN STATE HEALTH. He wasn't fired from his main practice, or even PSU. All that happened was he was removed as team physician.

Franklin is a high motor individual... and I am sure he likes to have all the information and asks a lot of questions. I seriously doubt he pressured anyone, more likely he wanted to know everything going on with his players and the doctor felt overwhelmed or annoyed by the coach wanting constant or ongoing communication.

Again, perhaps the Doctor is wrong and we don't know that yet. We only have pieces to the story. The bottom line is that the Doctor reported something and they got rid of him. It's retaliation and very hard to prove . The same things are happening as the Paterno era. Things being swept away,  perfect example,  the misconduct at laschBach. Whatever happened to that? Instead of being leaders , we have "dictators" .  The cult continues.  Again,  even if the doctor was wrong,  they found a way to get rid of him because he filed reports. Retaliation.  Franklin? He's the King, like he is the almighty.

Franklin is not the King or almighty... He had no power to over rule the Dr... Dr always did what was needed and Franklin sticking his nose into his players medical needs is Franklin's business.  It's more likely the Dr. did not want to be challenged or questioned by a coach.  In the end other than the Dr. botching a few things what players were forced back because Franklin said so? Zero, Dr Lynch even said so.

The team has every right to get rid of the Dr. and you can point to the obvious reasons like botching knees and Steven's foot along with the Dr. not being on site.  There is no cult and just because you say it does not make it so.  To be honest you sound stupid and constantly crying about everything PSU makes you come across little and sad.

"Again, perhaps the Doctor is wrong and we don't know that yet. We only have pieces to the story." - Forum Titan admitting that we don't know the whole story, and the doctor could be lying or not telling the whole truth

"The bottom line is that the Doctor reported something and they got rid of him." - The VERY NEXT LINE where Forum Titan says we know factually that the doctor is telling the truth and was fired for reporting something

You can't make this stuff up. LMAO 🤣 🤣 🤣
