So, new rule is clock runs after 1st down? I don't like that.
Except in the final two min of each half, but no 2 min warning. Or at least that's the way I read it.
Supposed to speed up the game. Here's an idea, take out 1/2 of the TV timeouts!
@been-there-ii You're right BT, the clock will still stop under two minutes in each half.
I like the clock stopping on first downs. I’m in no hurry to get the games over.
They expect games to be, on average, about 6-7 plays shorter.
Mainly the reason for doing it is for most of the game the offensive team doesn't care anyway. They huddle, the clock starts up after the ball is placed, and it runs down regardless. No one will notice.
We all know that the PROBLEM is too many commercials which will never change. So who is the genius that said, "I know, let's CHANGE THE GAME to accomodate (sp.) the PROBLEM. And to think somebody is getting paid to come up these rule changes.
