Brady Quinn: College Football Playoff process 'controlled by ESPN and Disney'

I am far from a Brady Quinn fan and even farther from a Notre Dame fan but I ain't the only one questioning the integrity of the CPF system and who calls the shots...ESPN is protecting it's business interests...5 teams from a single conference in a 12 team playoff for a National Title? Give me a fuckin break...

Please forgive me for not remembering who posted that fantastic piece regarding how they rig the system but I can't get that article out of my mind...Especially this time of the year when they try to shove this playoff selection integrity nonsense down our throats...The writer of that article hit the scam right on the head...They start the narrative to rig this thing back in late August when they release the initial college football rankings...It's quite easy to rig the SOS (Strength of Schedule) component of this thing...You just rank 14 teams from that conference in the top 25 so that almost every week they are playing a ranked opponent...So literally they are just playing against themselves the whole season...Even if they lose the excuse is they lost to a ranked opponent and therefor it is a "good loss" and we all know the bullshit they shovel out there to make try to make you believe that "some losses are better than wins"...This whole thing is a farce...They were damned sure not going to let happen this year what happened last year because last year exposed the con...This ain't about Notre Dame at all...It just so happened they were the team left out this year...It's the fact that an SEC team will NEVER be left out and they will rig it any way they have to that to make sure their business interests are protected...The hypocrisy is so evident that it really insults your intelligence...

Duke would have if they hadn't lost to 2 group of 5 teams.

I've seen you arguing that Tulane sucks and shouldn't be in, and now you're saying Duke should be in? Duke lost to Tulane!

Not one Big Ten team outside the 3 that are in deserves to be in. The only SEC team that arguably doesn't deserve to be in is Alabama.

So really you are just arguing over 1 team.

There must be some 'legal reasons' they let obviously poorer teams in?  Getting sued for monopoly power?  Or is it just good business?

Obviously we get a real National Champ now but the deck is still stacked in some peoples favor.  Heck you can put 5 SEC Teams in and then you can weaken the rest of the field where possible, statistically increasing the probability an ESPN Conference Team wins.

Yea I believe the evil empire has undue influence....they do.  We can argue about how much.

Yes, so now you've stated that Tulane should be out in favor of Texas and ND... but that Duke who lost to Tulane should be in also.

Makes zero sense.

Just my opinion that Texas and ND is better than Tulane is why I believe they should be in.  Duke won a P4 conference championship and I believe they should be in over Miami so it makes perfect since.

I’ve been saying this forever and it didn’t take a team I was rooting for to get screwed before I came to the realization.

Nobody is going to convince me that out of all the major conferences and independent teams that you can justify 5 teams from one conference in a 12 team national championship tournament...I frankly don't think 4 teams from a conference should be in a 12 team tournament but in special seasons where you really have 4 tremendous teams from a conference I could see it...To put 5 teams in is absolutely asinine and turns this whole thing into a farce...It is quite obvious there is an agenda by ESPN and their influence on this thing is way over the line...They should be forced to recuse themselves from any of this...This thing needs to be an earn your way in tournament...The con has been exposed and is easy to see...The funny thing is no matter how hard they try to rig this thing they ain't gonna have any of their golden boys win anyway...The B1G is going to win this thing for the 3rd year in a row...2 SEC rematch games in a 12 team national championship tournament...What a friggin joke...Why did they even play a regular season?

By the way...for those of you who haven't figured out this con yet...The reason they do that is to ensure that an SEC team is guaranteed to advance to the next round...They can't have a repeat of last season when the SEC got their clocks cleaned...They must continue to perpetuate the myth...

@the-funeral-director. We get the chance to see for sure. Will the SEC get it done this year? I’m picking Georgia over Alabama for the NC. I need to win that money again at work 😁🏈💰🇺🇸 I’d rather Georgia lose but I never put money on the line with my heart!

Bama for the NC? bahahahahahaha...Georgia? bahahahahaha...This is going to be an all B1G national title game...I don't see any of the SEC teams being able to beat Indiana, OSU or Oregon for that matter...The best team in the SEC in my opinion and the one that will go the farthest is A&M...Indiana will play OSU for the natty...That is unless the ESPN packs the refs for the Georgia/OSU game...Ole limp wrist will be prancing around crying to the refs the whole game...

@southern-psu-fan So the winner of a P4 conference who got the sh*t kicked out of them by Tulane should be in over Tulane. Duke needed 2 late scores to make that game look respectable, it was 34-16 with 3 minutes left.

Yeah okay, that's ridiculous.

I know what you said...

You said Texas and ND should be in over Tulane AND that Duke should be in over Miami.

What you say isn't in a vacuum, you said both. Therefore you think Tulane should not be in, but Duke should be.

@roaminglion no there’s a difference imo on who should be in Duke won the conference championship fair and square the same conference that Miami is in so Duke earned a right to be in the playoffs over Miami. My opinion doesn’t matter but the games played on the field should matter. It’s just my opinion that Texas and ND is better than Tulane. IMO just take the top 12 and where the chips fall, they fall.

Huh?

You just said Duke won a P4 so "they earned the right to be in"... but your opinion is "games on the field matter"

Okay, so...

1. Under the rules: Duke didn't earn the right to be in, Tulane earned it.

2. Tulane beat Duke, so if games on the field matter why are you still saying Duke earned it and Tulane shouldn't be there?

Your logic changes based on the team you are talking about

@roaminglion I’m not saying Tulane doesn’t deserve to be in there Its just my opinion they can’t beat Texas or ND and Duke deserves to be in over Miami.

I'd rather they prove it on the field than just hypothetically say they can't and leave them out.

It can never be proven on the field to some extent...16 teams?  There will always be the teams on the bubble.  ND had a chance to prove it on the field.  They lost games and they are not in the SEC, maybe had they been in the B10 they would be team #4 and the SEC would have 5....that leaves 3 others.

@underlion if ND were in the ACC they would be in. ND gets what it deserves. Greed caught up with them.
