What will now become very interesting in light of the collegiate world of endorsements will be what happens to HS players; will they now become eligible for endorsements? YouTube is full of 4th-12th graders ballin'.
And lets not forget about lacrosse, soccer, golf, bass fishing, tennis......Here comes Nike, Under Armor, Titlest.....!!
As long as these guys pay their fair share of taxes they should be able to make money from their name.
Ok, take away the scholarship then. Pay back any monies when you sign the dotted line of NIL.
@forum-titan The scholarship is for playing football for the school the money they make from endorsements from their names is different a d not coming from the schools if I understand Roam correctly.

That is correct, the school cannot be involved with the endorsement. I wonder though if the kid can give up the scholarship and elect to pay for it themselves? Kinda like Brady taking less money to spread it around...
Or do like Duke basketball, I think if I read correctly years ago, don’t give out scholarships and fund the player with endowment money; operations management 101, just shuffle the $$ towhere the need is.
I think I've heard about every expert on TV say this in the past 2 weeks:
"Name, image, and likeness really changes the financial calculus"
It’s a New Day, for sure!
I believe what these schools are going to do is steer these kids to marketing agencies that specialize in this sort of thing...The schools that are the most effective at linking these agencies to their well heeled alumni to entice kids to come to their school will win the recruiting wars and become the new powerhouses...The schools that can most effectively be the bridges between the athletes and endorsements are going to be the ones that come out on top in the recruiting wars...
And the marketing agencies can kick back to the schools that steer their kids to them! What a Pandora's Box this will become.
