I don't think I've ever seen it before, a coach leaving a power conference to take a higher paying gig at a "other" conference school. Strange times...

IMO WVU will never contend seriously in that conference. No connection to anyone they are playing, and it's too far for fans to really travel/care about the games in down years. Same thing goes for Louisville, I think they will have a lot of lean years and WVU's in the same boat.
Plus WVU has to pay a lot more for travel now too, especially for their other sports. At the time, I thought Missouri would be OK bu WVU would suffer in the long run when they joined the SEC/Big 12. If the Big would have just stopped bending over for Texas, WVU would have joined the SEC and been much better off.
