Decommits happening
Oh that is a given Homer...They are going to lose most of this class...Part of the deal...Don't worry the new coach will bring in players...
I couldn't care less about 2027 recruits right now to be perfectly honest, I feel half of them would have left regardless of what happened. Commits mean nothing anymore.
The transfer portal has changed the game we’ll be okay if we get the right coach.
There was an exodus starting with the loss to UCLA so even if Franklin stayed that class was going to fall apart...This program needs a change and if they select the right coach here this program will not miss a step...
Kemon Spell decommits.
He was leaving after they lost to UCLA last week...They are going to lose a lot of players as a result of this...HOWEVER...They are going to gain a lot of players when the new hire comes in...
Well look at this. A Penn State committ is now the WPIAL all-time yardage leader. Maybe Penn State is going to get a player like Cooper DeJean. The link to the article below and the following are a couple of quotes from the article:
"On Friday night, Sieg etched his name into Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) lore"
"It didn’t take long for Sieg to get the WPIAL record, as the Penn State commit scored on the first play of the game via a 70-yard run"
"the Penn State three-star safety pledge became the WPIAL all-time leader in total yardage, breaking Sto-Rox’s Lenny Williams’ mark of 11,559 yards, set in 2014, with 11,798."
Penn State commit becomes WPIAL all-time yardage leader
Honestly I wouldn't worry about 2027 commits at all when there is a coaching change over. No different than in other business. The new admin is bringing in who they want and those left over either earn a spot or are they are an adm/political causality.
Who is interim coach? Coach K?
Terry Smith, it would be nice to keep some PSU guys on the staff. Hint to new HC...
@underlion wouldn’t it be sweet if he pulled a Brent Key? 😁 just win
@southern-psu-fan lol Just win with honor!
Hope we see the JoePa influence on Terry!
I hope the coaching search doesn’t focus entirely on the PSU influence or Penn State men mostly because I think we can do better than what would be available.
Maybe James has a clone!
I get you love and worship Paterno, to each their own. I take a more pragmatic approach, Chuck Noll won 4 super bowls yet miraculously the Steelers managed to win 2 more with two different head coaches without turning Hines Field into a mausoleum devoted to Noll but what do I know?
@kularrow Ruhle is not going to energize the fanbase or the team. And what has the guy really accomplished? He is a good program builder but at this point we need a guy that can win and he hasn’t stayed anywhere long enough to know if he’s that guy.
@psujoe He hasn’t accomplished anything that justifies the job but his roots and relationship with Kraft can’t be ignored.
I honestly think the next head football coach at Penn State is going to be Curt Cignetti...I think the wheels are already in motion...
You couldn't be more wrong. I love my wife and I worship Jesus! As far As JoePa, I respect & appreciate what he did for my Alma Mater.

Curt is 64, he’s in the middle of a run, they’re going to give him a ridiculous contract extension now, why leave? He’s got everything set in place, he just beat Oregon on the road. Say he does leave, he’s going to want to see this thing through so we just wait? How’s that affect his players once they know he’s gone? Seems like bad timing for Cignetti.
@kularrow I keep hearing Elko being mentioned but would settle for just about any of the guys being mentioned other than Ruhle. Kraft should be put on notice that his job is on the line.
