I’m not sure how it happens or who is going to make the needed plays but my gut is telling me PSU will win a tight one and it probably won’t be pretty. Also won’t be as many points scored as a lot of people are predicting.
PSU 21 - Oregon 20
I’ll take it homer, just win baby!
PSU wins if:
- The Fatman has over 100 yards
- DA has a 75% or better completion rate and doesn't throw any boneheaded interceptions
- Defense has 2 takeaways
We win if our QB outplays their QB & our HC out-coaches (Yuk, Yuk) their HC!
Penn State wins if they win the turnover battle, play disciplined football (no bonehead penalties) and can effectively run the football...I also believe the environment is going to be a big factor...That place is going to be insane and nothing can prepare you to play in that environment...I have Penn State winning by 2 scores...They shoulda beat this team last year in the title game...My fear is the QB play...Here is hoping that particular leopard can change his spots...You know you have an elite championship caliber team when the weakest link is your 3 year starting 5* QB...I got Penn State by 13...34-21...
Need to come out ready to play, no more of those slow starts we’re becoming famous for.
Last year, the young man from Troy who transferred to Oregon had a career day against Penn State. This year, Penn State has a receiver from Troy. I'm hoping that #5 and several others end the night with great stats and an impressive win. Penn State 45 - Oregon 13.
The game depends on Allar, if he has a good game we win. If he can't hit the deep ball we lose

Ok so now I may need to change my prediction. Just saw that his PFF grade isn’t even in the top 100.
Our team should be better with all the studs we had coming back. I don’t care if it’s by one point, just find a way to win!
Noah Whittington most likely ready to play. Otherwise, They have quite a few players out. I know one thing for sure, Oregon has a hefty depth chart.
This game is on Allar...No excuses...I think we have the better personnel...Allar is the ballgame...I can tell you that Oregon is going to struggle tomorrow night with the noise and the atmosphere...They have never experienced anything like they are going to see tomorrow...Tomorrow is a MUST win ballgame...
Like I said before it's on Allar and Franklin. If Allar isn't getting it done, Jimmy needs to pull him & give Grunk a shot. The problem as I see it is it's not in Jimmy's DNA to do that!
Only if PSU get out to a fast start and maintains. If Oregon jumps out and takes the crowd out, it's lights out.I can tell you that Oregon is going to struggle tomorrow night with the noise and the atmosphere...
I was thinking we win a tight one despite Allar. It’s also time for Knowles to start earning his paycheck by making a difference in big games.
What concerns me is that Knowles didn't seem to have an answer against Oregon last year in the first game OSU lost to them.
I know what you're saying, Southern, but why no adjustments to slow them down in that 1st game?
Doesn't mean he didn't make adjustments... just that they didnt work.I know what you're saying, Southern, but why no adjustments to slow them down in that 1st game?
There is a lot of back and forth in OSU forums about that game. Many feel up to that point Day wasn't letting him run his full D the way Knowles wanted, as afterwards the OSU defense went to more of a Knowles philosophy and played much better.
A lot of them seem to think Larry Johnson didn't like Knowles's defense taking away from the DL. It's also been floated as the reason Knowles left, he didn't love the fact that Day was taking credit (or at least not setting the record straight) for getting the D turned around... when it was Day that was holding it back.
Surprised Soutjern hasn’t posted anything about that segment on Game Day where they compared Allar vs Pribula ratings and stats.
