I’d rather play 11 big 10 games and 1 OOC game. I like 1 warm up game but after that get some competition to play. Playing 2 more big 10 games would be fun imo.
Playing an OOC opponent doesn't mean it's a gimme game. Also, playing a Big Ten opponent doesn't mean it's not a gimme either.I’d rather play 11 big 10 games and 1 OOC game. I like 1 warm up game but after that get some competition to play. Playing 2 more big 10 games would be fun imo.
Purdue sucks, playing someone like Syracuse, Colorado, or even Air Force is a better game than them.
@roaminglion I agree but we’re not playing them teams you mentioned lol
@been-there-ii You just trying to get the funeral director fired up 😂
lol, yes and yes. Didn't look to see what, if any, conference affiliation the writer has, but I'm sure everyone except the Suck Everything Conference backers are nodding their heads up and down, vigorously!
What a tremendous article...The writer of this piece has in a much more eloquent and articulate way just stated everything I have been saying for years regarding the SEC...The SEC conference in cahoots with ESPN (who they have a business relationship with) have rigged this thing for years...They knew the jig was up last year when they were exposed and had to travel up north to play some games on the road...It's very easy to pound your chests about how tough your schedule is when you got 10 teams ranked in the top 15 to start the year and you only pick 4 teams for a playoff where the games are played in your back yard...So they literally play with themselves all year and get the benefit of the doubt and stack the 4 team playoff...I can see why they are crying and moaning that the playoff system needs to be reevaluated...It doesn't favor them...I can see why they want an NIL salary cap...The current system is wide open and if you can pay you get the player...It is all out in the open...They want to put the process back in the dark again...So they can do the bag of money nonsense and lord knows what to circumvent the cap just like they did BEFORE any of this was allowed and they were giving their rosters cars, bags of money, paying off mortgages and lord knows what all...The system as it is works perfectly...The payouts are out in the open so everyone is on equal footing and the playoff system was perfect...The problem is the big lie has been exposed and they are scrambling...They have been exposed as frauds and mentally they can't handle it...ESPN is doing their best to try to control this as well due to their business interests...It is refreshing to see that folks are exposing this farce for what it is...
@the-funeral-director what about the rigged big 10 FD? What about Jim delany basically telling the scam CFP committee to take Michigan or Ohio St in the playoffs while both teams were sitting home watching Penn St and Wisconsin fight it out for the big 10 championship and the CFP committee did exactly that. Penn St won the big 10 and beat Ohio St on the field and they still took Ohio St so it’s not just the SEC the whole thing was a rigged and the big 10 was part of the rigged system.
@southern-psu-fan You're talking oranges and kumquats brother, same family, but different.
@been-there-ii just saying the big 10 was just as slimy as the SEC we even got the replay in college football because the refs either sucked or they cheated in the big 10….thank God for The GOAT Joe Paterno
Stop with the whataboutisms Southern...To compare the nonsense that the SEC was pulling to the B1G favoring OSU and Michigan is like comparing Al Capone to a church bingo game...The SEC had the whole system rigged in their favor...To a certain extent they still do...The problem is they got exposed when they couldn't play with themselves anymore in virtual home games masquerading as playoff games...They don't like coming north to play playoff games in the cold...Cold weather football is a lot different game than 75 degree football...Trust me they are doing their damnedest to change this thing around so that they can rig it so their football teams won't have road playoff games...Rather than conference champs having home games they want to rig it so that the top rated teams get the home games and the byes...Notice how they have 10 of the top 15 ranked teams to start...That was one heck of a piece...That writer hit the nail right on the head...Trust me though...The SEC is going to do everything they can so that last year doesn't repeat itself...They have a VERY powerful Ally in ESPN...
I didn't even get into the so called NIL cap...That is a whole new ballgame as well...They want a cap so they can circumvent it like they did the old rules...They are finding that it is a little tougher to recruit and stack the deck when everybody else can pay players out in the open...The Dodge Chargers don't pull near the weight today as they did 15 years ago...
@the-funeral-director I don’t like either conference but we do got replay because cheating for Michigan and Ohio St was so bad. Ain’t a team out there got away with more cheating than Ohio State and Michigan. Michigan is in trouble as we speak for cheating and they got a NC from it and won’t nothing be done just wait and see. Meyer, Harbaugh and Jim trussell were lat go or left for the NFL because cheating was going on. Come on FD lol
You can call it cheating or you can call it bad calls by the referees. By the way PSU would have one less national championship if it wasn't for a bad call. In one of their championship years playing ND a catch was "made" by PSU late in the game. That catch led to the win. Replay showed the catch was out of bounds but we won the game because of a bad call. Or maybe it was cheating.
@psugrad81 was it Nebraska 81. I do remember Nebraska and Alabama getting a really bad call. It was every year teams getting hosed by the refs playing Ohio State and Michigan.
These are 2 entirely different things with 2 entirely different scales of cheating...On one hand you had the B1G conference and it's officiating crews blowing calls that almost always favored their 2 sacred cow teams...Ohio State and Michigan...The other is SEC programs outfitting their rosters with Dodge Chargers and bags of money as Bama did during their heyday along with other programs in that conference more or less doing the same thing on a lesser scale COMBINED with the rankings scam, ESPN being in bed with this conference and perpetuating this nonsense for their benefit and a 4 team playoff which many times put 2 teams from this conference in their 4 team playoff and to top it all off playing virtual home games to boot...You are comparing a church bingo game with Al Capone in his heyday...Like I said..The person who wrote this piece nailed the whole con right on the head...As long as they keep this 12 team playoff as is and don't change anything with the NIL it is going to be very difficult for the SEC to perpetuate the con they have been getting away with for the last 15 years or so...The problem the SEC has right now is that EVERYBODY is getting paid and not just their guys...
@the-funeral-director I remember about 15 years ago when Ohio State had a bunch of players with new car, and some investigative reporting turned up over 50 players driving new cars that were not in their name. Also their relatives.
So lets not act like the Big Ten was merely just letting OSU get away with a play here and a play there, and that they weren't buying players with cars like you say the SEC was doing. It's not Bingo vs Capone, OSU (and I am sure others) in the Big Ten had players driving cars a lot nicer than Chargers. LOL
@roaminglion and I’m sure teams in the ACC and PAC were also doing it. I know Miami and USC got caught big time cheating. Most of the NIL is way above my head but just listening around on different sports talk including big 10 folks they say it’s not Substainable and that’s the word I’ve heard them use. If it’s fair and good for college football I’m good with it but that’s not what I’m hearing.
@southern-psu-fan the reason YOU hear that it’s not good is because you listen to the whiny bitchy southern blowhards that hate the fact that they no longer have a competitive advantage. The guys on Kings of the North tell those people to pound sand and you can tell your whiny bitchy buddies that PSUJOE says the same.
I warned you years ago how this would all play out and apparently you didn’t believe me.
Penn State #2 team in the country and you guys continue to worry about SEC, ESPN, Paul Finebaum.....
I believe I just heard Kirk Ferentz say college football needs some kind of salary cap. Its big 10 season preview on big 10 network
@southern-psu-fan Iowa must be hurtin' for $$$$$. I hear corn futures are way down, lol!
