But what we are saying is Wheatley’s skillset is advanced and versatile enough that Knowles doesn’t have to abandon a lot of the exotic and unorthodox 3-safety stuff he did at Ohio State because he lacks the personnel at Penn State. On the contrary, we’re convinced Wheatley is the player who will benefit most from the Allen to Knowles DC upgrade.
I don’t don’t believe Knowles is an upgrade our defense was as good as anybody’s last year including Ohio State. Manny, Allen and Knowles are on the same level imo. Our problem imo the last few years is at the QB and WR positions hopefully it will be fixed this year.
