Especially their own can be brutal

In the Titan's defense, I thought the article worthy of posting and remember it comes from a Penn State source. There was heavy angst shown toward TR after that game that I thought unneccesary and it was just last year we heard the same for Clifford. Ya sure TR was awful that day but it was a bad situation, not his fault and he doesn't deserve that kind of treatment from his own fans. Just my opinion.

I do not like when fans of their own bash football players. Period! Respect your team through better or worse! This goes for every team of the land.
@been-there-ii: I see someone is out trolling rather early this morning. With no PSU football he must be suffering from withdraw symptoms.
I'm mad at you.
I don't think being critical of bad play is bashing the player. It's only being realistic. It's all in the way the criticism is expressed. Only my opinion fwiw.
@rip: Preach it BK!!!
@rip I agree BK, it’s ok imo to say what the kid can do and what he can’t do but you can tell when people are talking hate because the kid might not be good enough to play at the Penn St level. IMO we have a couple of RB’s that would be great at Vanderbilt but playing at Penn St they are average at best. Doesn’t mean they are bad football players they just might not be what Penn St needs to beat Ohio St. just my opinion though
@rip Oh I think its absolutely fine for fans to criticize. A player being out there on for all to see has agreed to certain criticism or accolades, works both way. Some of it is pretty over the top and I thought that is what the article was trying to say, not Penn State negativity, or at least that is how I read it.
@lakerie It's not that the article was or wasn't worth posting. It's the fact that, for not being a PSU fan, he spends an apparently inordinate amount of time cherry picking/gleaning negative articles about PSU to post here. If he's not a PSU fan and continually searches for negative things to post, (I can't remember him ever posting a positive link to any site) he fits my definition of internet troll.
@lakerie: I read it too. That pretty much holds true from the pros right down to HS. You and I both know that FT was yet again taking another shot at Penn State. That's my issue with the post.
If you choose to defend that, be my guest.
Tsuga, just saying the article, which is a rooted in Penn State, has merit. You are still, and will always be..my Maine Man.
Well guys, my 2 cents which doesn't mean much, is this. Take a look at this board. No one on here, Nits of the Round Table, in what I would call our PSU diehard close knit group (excluding Pipe/Snake/Niccy/Suzie/FT in that PSU diehard close knit group) wishes ill will against any player PSU or other players. Don't ever recall seeing that on here!
Also, never and I reiterate NEVER have I ever attended an amature sporting event of younger kids, high school or collegiate student athletes have I ever participated in, nor condoned booing a player or team during play. Refs, well now that is a totally different story!!!
So while the article posted was very well written, totally on point in my opinion, and appropriate given the current landscape I feel that once again it was posted in a misguided attempt to throw shade at the people on this board pure and simple. So I am in 100% agreement with Tsuga and BT's take not on the article itself but the intent on which it was posted tp this board.
Fire away!!!
Statistic show that PSU fan problems are related to students from Northern NJ that should be Rutgers Fans 😎 😎
And then there might be the excessive, what they call libations? And libations are only poured but maybe we can extend the definition to smoked.
I totally agree with you guys. The problem is not with the article, it's with Pipe continually posting negative information and idiotic comments solely to try to rile us up.

Like.....mad enough to leave this forum forever or "hold your breath till your face turns blue"; mad??
Jason-Pipe-Tighten erased from the Iowa game chat...if that is possible....
Man I liked the old Yahoo boards where you could just put people on ignore.
I don't mind fans of other teams coming on here. CT is a class act; would welcome him at my campfire any day of the week.
FT on the other hand, May be placed OVER the campfire.
