Could be a very ugly off-season which is to be expected when a head coach loses control of the locker room. My sources are telling me the turmoil all stems from when Franklin disrespected his own players after the loss to OSU in 2018.

We were 11-2 last year so your sources are wrong. What has Trent Gordon ever done? Let him go he’ll get replaced just like anybody else that leaves for whatever reason. We will take any player that leaves Penn State at Ga Tech if he wants to play football 😁

My source also told me that with expected transfers, players that leave early for NFL and recruiting decommits that we're looking at a potential roster of 75-80 scholarship players next year unless leftover scholarships are given to walk ons or this years recruiting class gets bolstered with leftover 2-3 star players.

Gordon was allegedly one of the rising stars on last years team and still has 2 years eligibility.

@psujoe. I’d say if he’s transferring he’s probably wanting more playing time.

You're probably right, Southern.  I really miss the old days when if you wanted more playing time, you worked harder and fought for it.

Your sources are whacked. They need to get off the crack pipe, Pipe! Dude was hardly a rising start

A 5-foot-11, 199-pound product of Manvel (Texas) High School, Gordon participated in the first three contests this season without notching a statistic. He previously entered four games in 2018, retaining redshirt status as a true freshman, then another 10 matchups in 2019.

Gordon has 21 tackles and five breakups in his Penn State career, which began in January 2018 when he arrived on campus as an early enrollee.

I actually don't, because I feel it's been shown that a lot of kids who otherwise were buried on the bench get a chance now.

No matter what Burrow did, he wasn't starting at OSU. He got to transfer and won a heisman, and I am glad that opportunity was there for him.

I agree Roam and I think sometimes a player's place in line creates opportunities in other ways and other places.

Power 5 college football is about money. The golden age is over. Move over educators, the pimps are now running the show.

(And I don’t like it!)

LMAO, yeah because no one was taking money or bribes back in the 60s-80s. LMAO

Come on now, Dexter Manley couldn't even read and he graduated. Revisionist history, those guys going to the NFL back then didn't care about education any more than the kids today do. Actually, at least today you have kids who can read.

As bad as the defense is this year if Trent Gordon ain’t playing that means he ain’t good enough to play, it’s that simple.  The coaches watch the guys in practice and they’re playing the best players that give us the best chance of winning.

Honestly,  Franklin doesn't have time now to be playing stupid games. Who I recruit,  who I play, who I keep and who I send off to the transfer portal.  He has lost so many players to the transfer portal than any other program in the country.  Ranked 1 in transfers at a alarming rate.  He's 0-5 and soon to be 0-6 with Rutgers knocking on the door with a historical win. Something going on behind doors.  If you ask me it doesn't matter if they are 2 star, 3 star or 20 star players. All players lost hurts the team, hurts the moral and hurts the future.

Really? Why was he given a scholarship? Why is he on the team if he's not good enough? If that's the case then I'm quitting my job tomorrow to try out for Penn state with a chance to play the NFL. What about the QB's?  I guess Franklin should send them off packing also?  So Franklin just wasted all that time and the money spent to recruit him? I didn't know Franklin has a try out team where he can hire and fire players at will, no questions asked..

@forum-titan. He might be a good player but he’s not good enough to play at Penn St as a starter but it’s very possible he’s good enough to start at Ga Tech

C'mon Roam, for every Dexter Manley, You could name how many Dave Joyner's, Mike Reids, Jack Kemps, etc, etc.  It's not revisionist history.  Guaranteed anyone who played for Paterno cared about their education....or they didn't play!  Kids back then didn't transfer at the drop of a hat.  Very few left early for the NFL.  The lure of the NFL wasn't what it is today.  The money simply was not that great.  Most left with their degrees, or returned to get it.

Very good point!! If he "ain't good enough" then why was he offered a scholarship? And why did the great JF spend so much of the University's money recruiting him? The guy still has 2 years eligibility left and was one of the defense's rising stars while playing DB last year. It was his first full season of play time and he wasn't a starter but I'm pretty sure if you look it up most DB's don't make a lot of tackles.

@ripI remember watching games as a kid and the players interviewed could not even speak English, it was supposed to be but you could not understand them.

For every Parterno there were 10 Barry Switzers. The reason Paterno was so respected back then is because he was the exception, not the rule

Ole Dexter was bad dude on the football field. One of the best. He had COVID and got sick but he’s back and said you can’t keep a good man down. Amen baby
