So 1 retired green beret is the authority on what is 'so offensive'? What is his take on the rebel flag? If I randomly survey 10 other green barets and Rangers and Seals so as not to be offensive does it really matter?
Here is what I find offensive, the NFL Franchise agreement has some nebulous verbiage that says something about representing the NFL appropriately. When in uniform you give up your 1st amendment rights. When I am wearing my company logo I am expected to behave a certain way or be disciplined. The NFL made a choice to ignore some behaviors for political reasons while enforcing what I see as similar behaviors.
So because some player thinks America is racist they get to disrespect the National Anthem and offend a certain percentage of the NFL's customer base? The NFL decided that the strong arm tactics of some put their $ more at risk than offending others. Isn't that what really happened in the board room?
I get to decide when and how much I'm offended.
Please show me where I said he's the authority on anything, let alone what is or isn't offensive.
FFS I said it was interesting, not that everyone else should shut up because 1 guy made the decision for everyone. My lord.
I think most of the American people are very proud and very protective over our military men and women and anytime we see anything that might disrespects them we jump all over it. To bad our law enforcement don’t get the same love because they do a great job considering we have 325 million people. There’s always a few bad apple in anything and ain’t nobody or nothing going to be perfect. Perfect left earth when JESUS went back to heaven.
Like mark jones from ESPN, he said he doesn’t want security at college football games because he doesn’t want to get shot lol. what a load of hogchit! Unless Penn State is on ESPN I don’t watch it anymore.

This is also very interesting to me Southern, because if you go back to the late 70s it was the exact opposite. Military men were being spit on after Vietnam and police were well respected.
He didn't even criticize me, all he did was make a statement about how he disagreed with what I said. I then told him that I didn't mean what he thought, and that I was just saying it was interesting... as in thought provoking. Not that I believed one man spoke for or symbolized everyone
Man Sky, you really need a hobby because your obsession with trying to "get me" on here is pretty pathetic.
With all due respect Roam; one retired green beret doesnt speak for all of us that served.
Where did I say 1 green beret speaks for everyone? I said I find it interesting that so many take offense to what was a suggestion from a veteran.
Not sure how that in any way states that 1 guy speaks for everyone. I said I find it interesting, nothing more.
And where did I say that you claimed one green beret speaks for everyone?? What I said was: " with all due respect Roam; one retired green beret doesnt speak for all of us that SERVED". I dont have a problem with Kap's protest; I have a problem with the way he chose to protest and I firmly believe that many vets share my views. But to me, it goes beyond Kap and the players. I have a problem with anyone that doesnt show respect during the National Anthem. That includes the vendors selling their goods, the fans talking among themselves....all of it......But I'm pretty certain I've chewed on this bone a time or two on here in the past. So fellow vets, where do you stand on this subject??

Right with you Marine! I served 30 years to help try to preserve and protect the rights that we all have and enjoy. I would be a hypocrite to talk against the act of peaceful protest or freedom of speech or expression or any other of our rights. However, I don't have to like or condone the manner or method in which they exercise those rights. I also could give a rats ass to what some "Green Beret's" opinion is. Because he was a "Green Beret" that is supposed to mean something? GMAFB FFS!!! I don't care whether he is a Green Beret or the Jolly Green Fricken Giant I vehemently disagree with his opinion but, he has the right to express it.
I feel the issue on which Kap and all the others are trying to bring attention to is valid and needed. However, in my opinion there are better ways to go about it and get more people on board to support it.
I probably projected some of my response to underlion's quote onto you, and for that I apologize.
Just so you know, when I said "I find it interesting" in this context I mean it's thought-provoking, not necessarily that I believe it's right or wrong or look at it one way or another. Just that I think it's an interesting topic.

CK was a good QB for a couple of years now he’s a racist punk ass race pimp that’s not good enough to play in the NFL.
I didn't mind him so much when he was protesting, but when I saw him wearing cop pig socks and Fidel Castro t-shirts in Miami that was pretty much an indication he was just a punk.
@southern-psu-fan...What Bob failed to mention southern, re: Miles Sanders "good game", is that Miles reverted to bad habits on the third play of the game, putting the ball on the ground leading to a Rams 7-0 lead, a deficit from which the Eagles never recovered
THis wasnt Kent St, you cant put the ball in the ground in the NFL, AND EXPECT TO WIN It just doesn't happen that way..
As a former "swabbie", I strongly disagree with that former green beret, the former QB, and any other so called protester that chooses to disrespect our country's flag. I think you hit the nail on the head Tsuga. I agree with you 100%.
Tony Dorsett and Franco Harris are tied for the most career fumbles by an NFL running back, with 90 fumbles. Dorsett's NFL career lasted 15 years & Franco played 12 years. Not too bad of a shelf life!

Bob, if I may ask what type of boat did you serve on? My Grandfather was a tin can sailor, when he passed they did a very moving ceremony for him.

It would be interesting to see if running backs in general fumbled more back when those two played... considering you could practically rip someone's head off back in the old days and not get a penalty 😂😂😂😂
Any Eagles fans remember Chuck Cecil? I believe he was on the cover of sports illustrated under the title "Is this man too tough for the NFL?" 🤣🤣🤣
Talk about a small world, I was on a destroyer too! She was the USS Hank, DD214. Fortunately, I haven't passed yet. Proud to hear what they did for your grandfather. Tin can crews are relatively small in number and, at least back in the day, really tight.
