Reading an article on who was the toughest RB’s to bring down and Jim Brown was #1 and earl Campbell was #2. Jim Brown was a bad dude but I’ve never in my life time seen a RB any tougher to bring down than Earl Campbell. I would have Earl #1 and Jim #2. I love reading stuff like this. The article had the top 30 on ESPN it just popped up
Can't argue with either man. If I remember correctly, Franco was pretty hard to tackle too
Jim Brown. Where was Sweetness on this list?
Jim Brown....no contest.
Jim Brown was drafted in 1957 by the Cleveland Browns and played for 9 seasons before retiring at the top of his game. Most of you likely never got to see him play as televised games were rare and very regionalized, not like seeing every game, every weekend as it is now. I will tell you that I've never seen a player that so powerful north and south, but so graceful moving around tacklers and making subtle shifts so as not to give a defender a good hold to bring him down. Jim Brown is simply the best running back that ever lived.
@psujoe. I named my youngest son after sweetness and neither him or Franco was on the list I was shocked.
@lakerie. Lake my brother I hope #22 and #26 is hard to bring down the rest of this year and going forward. We have a lot of frustration to take out on Nebraska lol. Jim Brown was before my time but I have seen some of his games and he was a monster. My goodness I remember watching Earl Campbell and he did things and run over people like I’ve never seen. I forgot who Houston was playing on Monday night football this dude run over the whole dang defense and dragged defenders 50 stinking yards hanging all over him lol
@lakerie...agree, saw both, JIm Brown hands down Ive seen what seemed like half the Eagles team on his back, and he still wouldn't go down..
I'm aging myself here but I remember watching the Browns play the Colts in Baltimore one year in what would be a match-up of two of my favorites: Lenny Moore and Jim Brown. Brown went ape-sh*t crazy that day and scored several times as my feeble brain recalls. I cant remember the year exactly, thinking maybe '58 or '59. I still have that program stashed away in my office somewhere with the stats that I jotted down during and after the game. I think JB ran for darn near 200yds and LM was stifled most of the game. In fact, i dont think he gained 25 yards that day but he did have over 100 yds receiving.....I think.
I was showing all the old programs I had to my one of my grandson's a year or so ago. Now I gotta go back and dig that one up and see just how good my memory is!!!!
Jim Brown, the greatest RB to play the game. Ya had to see him play to appreciate how he'd run a guy over on one play and then wait for his linemen to set up their blocks on the next. Fluid is the best adjective I can come up with right now to describe him.
